I’d been wanting to stay at Shangri-La Far Eastern Taipei for a while, mainly because my travel group consisted of three people who all wanted individual beds and a single room. I was a bit hesitant at first since most of the online reviews were from 2017–2018, but once I arrived, I completely changed my mind—this hotel exceeded all expectations. The ambiance is incredibly luxurious, and the overall quality is top-notch. The room was much bigger than the photos suggested, offering plenty of space and a really comfortable feel. From the moment we walked in, the bell staff and front desk team were welcoming and professional—every interaction was pleasant. The signature fragrance and premium toiletries added that extra touch of sophistication. Initially, I was disappointed to learn that none of the four-room options had views of Taipei 101 (which was part of our original shortlist), but after seeing the room in person, I didn’t care about the view at all—the condition, cleanliness, and comfort were just too good. During our 3-night stay, we only encountered one other Korean guest (in the elevator!), and the breakfast area and pool were mostly filled with European travelers, giving it a very international vibe. What stood out the most was how the hotel proactively sent us a confirmation email after booking to confirm our schedule—something many 5-star hotels don’t do. It made planning so much easier and gave me peace of mind. Overall, this trip was enjoyable and stress-free thanks to the excellent service. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Taipei.

Nearby, I discovered the legendary Tian Xia San Jue Beef Noodle Soup—rich broth, perfectly tender beef, and a must-try. M One Coffee nearby is also fantastic, with a cozy vibe and excellent brews. What truly stood out was how pet-friendly the hotel is—my dog felt right at home, and the staff treated him like family. The place itself is clean and well-maintained, with spotless bathrooms and showers that make your stay comfortable. One thing to note: if you're sensitive to noise, you might hear some singing from the downstairs karaoke bar before 10 PM. Also, the air conditioning in the room runs very cold—definitely turned it down a bit and used extra blankets, which thankfully were provided. Overall, this is a great value for the location and quality. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in Taipei.

Stayed for one night on Thursday, and the price of around 7,000 JPY for two people was absolutely excellent value. The room had great soundproofing—no noise from the hallway or neighboring rooms, which made for a peaceful night’s sleep. The air conditioning worked flawlessly, keeping the room cool and comfortable throughout. All amenities were well-maintained and fully equipped, including quality toiletries and a reliable hairdryer. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable—right in the heart of the neighborhood with convenience stores, cafes, restaurants, and grocery shops just a short walk away. Public transportation is super accessible too, making it easy to get around Taipei. Overall, this was a fantastic stay, and I’d definitely book again if I’m back in Taipei. Highly recommend!
