Celebrating New Year's Day at Rosewood Beijing was the perfect way to start the year. With chilly weather outside, staying put in this luxurious hotel felt like a dream. I’ve always admired Rosewood’s design aesthetic, and this stay didn’t disappoint—the executive suite might not be huge, but the view from the windows is absolutely unbeatable. Even the little touches, like my initials embroidered on the pillowcase, made the experience feel personal and special. The executive lounge exceeded expectations—both the food quality and service were outstanding, easily among the best I’ve experienced in China. And then there’s the pool: even in winter, it feels like stepping into a serene greenhouse garden. Calm, elegant, and breathtakingly beautiful—hands down, one of the most stunning pools in Beijing. A true gem.

I’ve always had a bit of emotional distance from The Opposite House—after all, it’s just a short walk from my home, so I never really felt the urge to stay overnight. But this past May Day, with friends everywhere else enjoying their trips, even I started feeling restless. So I decided on a spontaneous little getaway: a quick night out, then back home to scoop the cat litter. Honestly, the moment I arrived, I was struck by how intimate yet thoughtfully designed the space feels—every detail tells a story. The service was exceptional too. Special thanks to Lucy, the tall and friendly staff member who gently warned me about the busy breakfast rush during peak hours. Without her tip, I’d have been overwhelmed! And the mini bar in the room? Overwhelmingly stocked—so much food and drinks I couldn’t possibly finish. Bonus points for being pet-friendly, even if my shy cat didn’t get to enjoy it. Seeing those adorable dogs at check-out brought a real smile to my face. It’s sad knowing this place will soon close, but since we can’t change that, I’m glad I came here one last time—to truly experience its quiet magic before it fades.

I only had one day in Beijing and needed a hotel with great transit access, so I chose BEI Zhaolong Hotel, JdV by Hyatt. Right outside the door are the Line 3 and Line 10 metro stations, and transferring to the Capital Airport Express is super convenient. It’s also just a short walk to Pop Mart Park, and surrounded by Sanlitun Taikoo Li—perfect for dining and shopping. Overall, the value for money is excellent. The room has a clean, minimalist design with a spacious king bed that made for a comfortable sleep. The only minor downsides were the small toilet (a bit tight for taller guests) and the showerhead, which felt a bit weak—would be great if they upgraded to a larger flow model next time. All in all, this is an ideal choice for travelers who don’t care about luxury finishes or being right on top of tourist hotspots, but really prioritize easy access to public transport.

We stayed for a week at the end of October with two adults and an 11-year-old child, and had a fantastic experience overall. We chose this apartment hotel primarily for its convenient location and well-equipped units—having enough sleeping space for everyone and a fully functional kitchen with proper utensils was essential, and it delivered exactly what was shown in the photos. When we arrived, we requested some additional kitchenware, and everything we asked for was promptly provided. The unit was spotless throughout our stay, with daily cleaning services and fresh towels changed every other day—sometimes even more frequently, which we appreciated. The location couldn’t be better: right next to The Place shopping complex, with countless cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. There’s also a large supermarket on the lower level of the adjacent building. Three metro stations are within walking distance, including one direct line to the city center and major attractions—just a 20-minute ride. The staff member who checked us in was incredibly helpful, responsive, and went out of her way to assist with a few things during our trip. Thank you so much! This place offers excellent value, and we’d definitely return.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and I was pleasantly surprised by a complimentary upgrade. Daily free sodas and bottled water are a nice touch. One of the best features? There’s a free laundry machine on the premises—perfect for longer stays or business trips. This little detail made my entire stay in Beijing much more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back to Huashang Hotel next time I visit Beijing. Great value, great location, and genuine hospitality.
