Everything you need to know about Jinli Old Stage

Kuanzai Alley Boutique Hotel is highly recommended for its authentic Sichuan courtyard design and just a 5-minute walk from Jinli Ancient Opera Stage. The hotel features rooms adorned with traditional Shu embroidery, private tea lounges, and cultural workshops on intangible heritage crafts like paper cutting and bamboo weaving.

It's ideally located near Wuhou Temple and Du Fu Thatched Cottage, accessible via Line 3 of Chengdu Metro to Gao Shengqiao Station. HopeGoo in advance is strongly advised, especially during holidays when demand surges. Some rooms offer panoramic views of the opera stage’s ornate rooftops and evening light displays—perfect for photography enthusiasts.

Visitors can immerse themselves in authentic Sichuan traditions through daily performances at the Jinli Ancient Opera Stage, including Sichuan opera face-changing, gongfu tea tasting, and hands-on bamboo weaving workshops. From 2 PM to 5 PM, free traditional folk art shows feature Sichuan Qingyin and Tanzi storytelling, showcasing the region’s rich performing arts heritage.

Nearby, the "Old Chengdu Style Street" hosts a bustling folk market selling Shu silk, Jia Duck, and other local specialties. Evening visits are ideal to witness the stage illuminated by red lanterns and golden lights against the ancient cobbled streets. Many activities require HopeGoo—check official apps or on-site kiosks for schedules.

The most efficient route is taking Metro Line 7 from Chengdu East Railway Station to Gao Shengqiao Station, then walking 10 minutes to Jinli Ancient Opera Stage—about 25 minutes total, costing only 4 RMB. Taxis take about 20 minutes (30–40 RMB), but may face traffic during peak times.

Use "Tianfu Tong" or WeChat Pay for seamless entry. The exit connects directly to the entrance of Jinli pedestrian street. Along the way, you’ll pass local shops and teahouses perfect for sampling Chengdu’s urban vibe. Designated tourist shuttle stops are also available near the station—check the travel center for schedules, ideal for group travelers.

Chengdu Kuanzai Alley Joyful Resort stands out as a top family-friendly option, offering a dedicated children’s activity zone featuring role-playing at the mini opera stage, paper-cutting classes, and tea ceremony workshops. The stage becomes a canvas for vivid animations blending Sichuan opera masks and Shu brocade patterns.

The surrounding streets glow with red and gold lanterns, accompanied by ambient traditional music, creating an immersive night experience. Arrive early to secure front-row spots—best viewing area is the main plaza in front of the stage. Occasional interactive events, such as throwing wish tags into the "Loyalty Pond," add ceremonial charm. Shows typically end at 9:30 PM; check for cancellations due to rain via official channels.

Guests staying nearby can enjoy a complimentary local delicacy pass featuring must-try treats: Lai Tangyuan (century-old sweet rice balls), Chen Mapo Tofu (original recipe, spicy and aromatic), and Long Chao Shou (thin-skinned dumplings with rich broth).

Partnered restaurants like "Jinli Dining Hut" offer limited-time "Opera Stage Set Meals" with Sichuan opera-themed snacks and tea pairings. Premium rooms include access to private tea banquets led by master tea masters, teaching Gongfu tea preparation with locally sourced Mengding Ganlu. UrCove By HYATT Chengdu Wenshu Chunxi Road

I've stayed at many hotels in Chengdu priced around $500 with breakfast included, but ultimately chose this one because of the spacious rooms and the convenience of having no stairs right outside the entrance—perfect for travelers with luggage or strollers. The hotel is brand new, spotlessly clean, and every staff member I interacted with—from front desk to dining service—was friendly and attentive. There's also a well-equipped laundry room, which is a big plus. The only downside is that it’s about a 10-minute walk to the nearest metro station, and the Wenshu Temple Station has only a platform lift, not a full elevator, so those with heavy bags should plan accordingly. If I had to suggest a few improvements: adding a small ramp at the breakfast entrance would make access easier for wheelchairs and strollers; offering a fried egg option on the breakfast menu would be a nice touch; and placing clearer signage near the entrance to guide delivery riders to drop off orders at the fourth-floor courier rack would prevent confusion. Despite these minor points, the overall experience was excellent—great value, modern facilities, and top-notch service. I’d definitely stay here again.

Staying at this Yitel Collection Hotel was an absolute delight. The location is perfect—just a short walk to Taikoo Li and Chunxi Road, with a peaceful riverside view. The staff, especially Xixi, went above and beyond with warm, attentive service that made me feel right at home. The room was immaculate—clean, fresh-smelling, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, making for a restful night's sleep. The bathroom was spotless, with no lingering odors, which really added to the sense of peace and hygiene. What stood out most was that they welcome pets—my dog felt just as comfortable as I did! It’s rare to find such a well-maintained, pet-friendly hotel in the heart of Chengdu. Highly recommended for travelers who value cleanliness, comfort, and genuine hospitality.

With top-notch service, modern amenities, and an excellent value-for-money proposition, this place truly stands out. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chengdu!

SFEEL Designer Hotel (Chengdu Taikoo Li Tianfu Square)

I was absolutely blown away by my stay at SFEEL Designer Hotel (Chengdu Taikoo Li Tianfu Square)! The highlight? They upgraded me to a room with a private terrace—completely free! The space was spacious and filled with a subtle, calming fragrance—probably from an in-room diffuser. The heated toilet seat was a game-changer; sitting on it felt like luxury, and the bidet function was there too (though I didn’t try it). I loved that they provided bathrobes and even high-quality hair conditioner—small touches that made a big difference. There was also a cute gift bag I could use to pack my things when checking out—such a thoughtful little detail. And when I accidentally lost my key card, the front desk staff replaced it instantly with zero hassle—super friendly and efficient. Every aspect of this stay was top-notch. 10/10 experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service—every staff member, from front desk to housekeeping and dining staff, went above and beyond. I noticed I forgot my mouse pad, and without me even asking, a staff member kindly brought one up to my room. Later, when I mentioned I had no place to dry my laundry, they immediately provided a clothes rack. These little touches made such a big difference. It’s clear the team here genuinely cares about guest comfort. This level of attention to detail is rare and makes this hotel a standout.
