That said, since the room has no windows to open, it can get quite warm when the spring water is hot. Next time, I’ll definitely go for a ground-floor room with an outdoor onsen—it sounds like the perfect way to enjoy nature and warmth together. The staff’s Japanese hospitality was outstanding—thoughtful, respectful, and always attentive. I especially loved the evening champagne happy hour; it added a lovely touch of elegance to the stay. The onsen was warm and relaxing—exactly what we needed after a long day of sightseeing. One standout moment was the kind hospitality from the male staff member on duty the evening of November 5th. It was raining when we left, and he kindly walked us to our taxi, holding an umbrella the whole way. That small act of care truly made our experience memorable. On the other hand, one of the younger female front desk staff seemed less welcoming—when we asked if we could pick up yukata in the lobby, she said they were already in the room, but we never found any. After checking with other guests, we learned the yukata are indeed meant to be collected at the front desk. A simple miscommunication, but something worth clarifying for future visitors. Overall, the warmth and attention to detail from most of the team more than made up for it. This ryokan offers incredible value and a genuine sense of welcome—definitely a place I’d return to without hesitation.

Rooms are spacious enough, clean and well-maintained with modern furnishings. Everything you’d expect is there: functional air conditioning with customizable settings (a big plus!), no unpleasant odors, and a fresh, welcoming atmosphere. The bed and pillows were perfectly balanced—soft but supportive, making for a restful night’s sleep. Noise insulation is excellent, so you won’t be disturbed by hallway sounds or outside noise. The hot spring features both indoor and outdoor pools, though the pools are on the smaller side—expect some crowding during peak hours, but the warm water is absolutely relaxing. Parking is abundant and affordable at ¥1,200 per night, which makes it ideal for those traveling by car. Check-in was fast and smooth, with friendly staff who clearly explained facilities and breakfast details. The room was spacious for a double booking—there was plenty of room to stretch out on the large bed, which was super comfortable (though slightly on the soft side). If you’re particular about mattress firmness, it might be worth noting. What really stood out was the thoughtful touches: they provide sleepwear and even let you choose your own pillow type to bring back to the room. The sleepwear itself is made from calming, sleep-enhancing fabric—such a nice detail that shows how much they care about guest relaxation. The on-site hot spring is clean, well-designed, and easy to navigate. While the pool isn’t huge, it’s very comfortable and relaxing. There’s a real-time display in the lobby showing hot spring usage, so you can avoid crowds and visit during quieter times. From 5 PM to 9 PM, there’s also complimentary tea and drinks available in the lounge—perfect for unwinding with a drink after a long day exploring Nara.
