The service was excellent, and the room was spotless and well-organized—really made for a comfortable stay. That said, the bathroom and shower area are quite compact, and privacy is limited, which might be an issue for some travelers. Still, considering the great value and prime location near the beach, it’s a solid choice for a relaxing getaway. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and we’d definitely consider staying here again.

The front desk, however, seemed understaffed at times, leading to longer wait times when checking in or requesting assistance. The Benjamin ApartHotel is well located and offers good value for money, especially if you're looking to explore Durban on foot. The neighborhood is vibrant and close to local attractions. However, during our stay, we noticed black mold in the shower and stains on the sheets—definitely not what we expected from a place that claims to be clean and well-maintained. We had to visit reception three separate times just to request bath towels, which was frustrating. Also, if you're staying here, definitely ask for a room facing away from Florida Road—music from the nearby club played loud into the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. While the location and overall price point are strong, the lack of attention to cleanliness and noise control really impacted our experience. Would recommend it only if you can get a quieter room and don’t mind dealing with some maintenance issues.
