Only two rooms have private bathrooms; the others share two large communal bathrooms on the second floor, where you’ll also find a shared hairdryer, iron, and ironing board—all neatly stored in what feels more like a cozy lounge area with couches, bookshelves full of books to borrow, and a relaxed vibe. Please bring your own soap and shampoo, as only hand wash is provided per bathroom. Towels and washcloths are plentiful. Breakfast was a delightful mix of crepe-wrapped eggs, cheese, fresh fruit, bread, jams, honey, coffee, tea, and boxed juices (orange, mango, guava, apple). Breakfast was easily the best we had in Egypt—far more variety than at other hotels we’ve stayed at, including the famous Old Falls Hotel.
