I really enjoyed my stay at the Birmingham Strathallan Hotel. While some rooms are a bit dated, upgrading to a newer room was absolutely worth it—comfort, space, and amenities made a noticeable difference. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of Birmingham with easy access to public transit and local attractions. For the price point, this is a solid choice with great value. I’d definitely recommend it for both business and leisure travelers looking for a comfortable, convenient base in the city.
Staying here was a great experience overall. The location is super convenient—just a short walk to QE and UOB, making it easy to get around the city. The room itself is compact but well-designed, with a fridge for storing drinks and snacks, which was a nice touch. Having a private bathroom was a big plus—it felt clean, private, and very functional. The bed was comfortable, and I slept really well, waking up feeling refreshed. The place is spotless, and the staff were friendly and helpful whenever I needed something. It’s a solid choice for travelers looking for comfort, cleanliness, and value in Birmingham. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
This stay was absolutely delightful! Located just steps away from QE and UOB, the convenience of transportation couldn’t be better—everything is within easy reach via public transit. The studio itself is clean, well-designed, and fully equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing trip. What stood out most was the incredible value for money—this level of quality at such a reasonable rate is hard to find. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, making check-in and check-out smooth and stress-free. Overall, it was a perfect experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be returning next time I visit Birmingham and highly recommend this place to fellow travelers.
Staying at Premier Inn Birmingham Central Hagley Road was a great experience overall. The hotel offers the usual high standard you’d expect from the brand—clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. I especially appreciated the attached Beefeater restaurant; it’s a nice spot for a relaxed meal with good food and friendly service. Free parking is a definite plus, especially if you're driving. Getting into town is super easy—just a 10 to 15-minute bus ride from the stop right on Hagley Road. The staff were helpful and welcoming throughout my stay. My room was spacious, the shower pressure was excellent, and having a proper bath was such a welcome treat after a long day. It’s rare to find a hotel that nails both comfort and convenience, but this one does. Highly recommend for travelers looking for a reliable, no-fuss stay in Birmingham.
I stayed at The Avenue Club and Lodge in Birmingham and found it to be a budget-friendly option with decent value for money. The room was clean and smelled fresh, which was a plus. However, I did notice some dampness, especially in the corners—probably due to poor ventilation. The area is quite noisy, with motorbikes passing by late into the night, often until around 2 a.m. I also experienced noise from neighboring rooms—guests were loud on both sides, staying up until around 3 a.m., which definitely affected my sleep quality. While this isn’t the hotel’s fault, it’s something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to noise or prefer a quiet stay. Overall, it’s a solid choice for travelers prioritizing affordability and location, but not ideal if peace and quiet are top priorities.
The location is definitely convenient—just a short walk to the city center and well-connected by public transit—but overall, this studio apartment doesn’t offer good value for money. The unit is on the ground floor, but accessing it involves navigating a very narrow staircase with low ceiling space, making moving luggage awkward and uncomfortable. The biggest issue? Noise from the upper-floor guests. I was woken up multiple times by footsteps starting as early as 7 a.m., lasting over an hour before they even left the flat. At night, the same disturbance continued, making it impossible to fall back asleep. It’s incredibly disruptive. Inside, cleanliness is a major concern—dead flies were visible near the bed, spiders were scurrying around the kitchen area, and the dishes, cookware, and cabinets were visibly dirty, with greasy residue on surfaces. The carpet had a musty smell, likely due to poor ventilation. I’m not sure if it was bed bugs or dust mites, but I did notice several bites on my legs. The bathroom and shower area are extremely cramped—once inside, there’s barely enough room to move. Thankfully, the hot water worked well. I ended up using disinfectant (like Dettol) to spray down the bathroom and shower before use, and I strongly recommend bringing your own towel. While the location is a plus, the noise, hygiene issues, and lack of comfort make this far from ideal. Not recommended if you’re looking for peace, quiet, or clean accommodations.
I'm currently on a long-term contract working on the new railway stations in Birmingham, including Mosley Station, King's Heath Station, and Pineapple Road. While there are plenty of quality hotels in the city, I consistently choose The Edgbaston Palace Hotel. Every time I check in, I’m greeted with genuine warmth—no rush, no pressure, just thoughtful hospitality. The rooms I’ve stayed in have always been spotless and comfortable, with excellent daily housekeeping. Breakfast service is another highlight: staff greet guests warmly, go out of their way to assist, and the food is consistently high-quality with a wide variety of options. There are also ample seating areas, perfect for relaxing or meeting friends. The bar lounge is equally impressive—friendly, attentive staff who truly go above and beyond, even offering table reservations if you’re expecting visitors for dinner or drinks. It’s clear they care about creating a welcoming, stress-free experience. For anyone visiting Birmingham for work or leisure, I’d highly recommend this hotel. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s a comfortable home away from home.
This was a business trip, and the stay was very comfortable overall. The location is convenient—just a short walk from the subway station and close to downtown Birmingham. I appreciated the variety at breakfast: fresh pastries, hot dishes, and a good selection of international options. The staff were friendly and attentive, always checking if we needed anything. The only small improvement would be having an extra pillow available, but that’s a minor detail. Everything else was excellent—the room was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. I’d definitely recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travelers. A great value with a welcoming atmosphere.
The Apollo Hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The staff went above and beyond with their attention to detail—every team member was friendly, professional, and always ready to help. From check-in to checkout, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Their warm smiles and proactive service made the entire stay incredibly comfortable and stress-free. It’s clear they prioritize guest satisfaction, and it shows in every little thing. This is more than just a place to sleep—it’s a memorable experience. I’ll definitely be back.
My stay at Collection Hotel Birmingham was extremely disappointing. The bathroom was filthy with visible mold all over the place—this is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. The furniture was worn out and missing pieces, clearly neglected. The mattress was uncomfortable and made for a restless night’s sleep. To make matters worse, breakfast was advertised during booking, but none was provided upon arrival. When I complained, I was told to write to the manager. I did so immediately, including photos showing the poor condition—but received absolutely no response. Not even a polite acknowledgment. This lack of customer service is shocking. For the price, I expected far better cleanliness, maintenance, and communication. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, and I certainly won’t be returning.
Staying at this hotel was a great experience from start to finish. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the city center and super convenient for public transport. The room was cozy and warmly heated, making it ideal for a comfortable night’s sleep. It’s small but well-designed with plenty of storage and natural light. The en-suite bathroom was clean, tidy, and equipped with everything you’d need. While the mattress could use a slight upgrade, the overall comfort was still excellent. Breakfast was included and absolutely worth it—great variety: cereals, freshly cooked options, toast, jam, tea, coffee, orange juice, and apple juice. A classic, satisfying spread that gave me energy for the day. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Birmingham.
I really wish I hadn’t bothered. I called this hotel because it was the closest option to my brother’s place, and I was hoping for a quick stay. When I spoke to the front desk, I was told they’re no longer taking guests—instead, the rooms are being used to house refugees under a local council program. I was genuinely shocked, especially since I’ve stayed here before and had a decent experience. Now, knowing how the space is being used, I can’t even consider booking again. It’s disappointing and makes me question the hotel’s integrity and focus on guest service.
