This historic Berlin hotel has a classic charm with a slightly vintage feel—exactly the kind of old-school elegance you’d expect from a long-standing local favorite. The room was surprisingly spacious, comfortably fitting two guests with plenty of room to move around. Even the bathroom felt generous in size, though the sink counter was a bit high—probably designed for taller Europeans. Free bottled water wasn’t handed out automatically; instead, you had to hang a sign outside your door to request housekeeping. We stayed four nights and only received two bottles after two cleanings, so it’s important to know that you need to signal your request. On the upside, the hotel offers on-site parking at 30€ per day—convenient, though pricey. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and English communication flowed smoothly. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: right next to a Chinese supermarket, several authentic Chinese and Italian restaurants, plus a variety of local eateries and shopping centers. There’s even a 24-hour McDonald’s nearby, and the Christmas market is just steps away. Walking to the TV Tower takes about 9.5 km—perfect for a relaxed stroll along the way, passing by the Museum Island and other landmarks. Driving there is faster, but finding parking near major attractions can be a real challenge. Overall, despite minor quirks, this stay was highly satisfying. Great value, excellent service, and a prime location make this hotel a top pick for anyone visiting Berlin.
Puschkin Rooms
The guesthouse is infested with bed bugs—this is not an exaggeration. We found them crawling even in the shared kitchen, which is centrally located and accessible from all rooms. The owner never showed up during our stay and has not responded to any messages since. We had to scramble to find another hotel just to get a safe place to sleep. Health authorities have already been notified to prevent further risks to future guests.

A few small improvements would make it perfect: adding a ramp at the entrance for easier luggage access (just a few steps up), upgrading to newer card keys, and installing USB charging ports. But honestly, these are just minor details—this hotel offers great value, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’d definitely book here again.

Staying at Amano Home Apartments in Berlin was a fantastic experience. Right outside the door, you have access to both a tram stop and a subway station—just a 15-minute ride straight to Berlin Hauptbahnhof, making travel super convenient. The apartment itself is spotless, spacious, and well-equipped with a fully functional kitchen and all the essentials. Even though we arrived after the front desk check-in hours, the self-check-in process was straightforward and worked perfectly as described. The only minor downside is the street noise at night due to its location, but it’s definitely manageable and not disruptive enough to ruin the stay. Overall, this place offers excellent value for money and a great base for exploring the city.
