Staying at Hotel Avalon Taj in Agra was an absolute highlight of my trip. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the Taj Mahal, putting you right in the heart of Agra’s vibrant local life. You’re surrounded by street vendors, authentic culture, and a real sense of place. The staff at the entrance and front desk were incredibly helpful and welcoming—always ready to assist with directions, luggage, or recommendations. Breakfast was standard Indian fare, but if you're used to Western breakfasts, you can request eggs easily—my choice was delicious. The chai was excellent, served with warm hospitality. I noticed a supervisor walking through the dining area each night with a notepad and pencil, checking on rooms and guest experiences—such a thoughtful touch that shows real attention to detail. My room was spotless, the bathroom met North American standards (toilet paper included!), and the elevator comfortably fits six people and works perfectly. Outside, friendly stray dogs roam around—no worries at all. Next door, I watched older women carrying bricks on their heads while working alongside their children. Moved by the scene, I invited them over and gave each a small amount of money. Moments like this made the stay feel so much more meaningful. Overall, it’s a well-run, authentic, and heartwarming experience.

The property didn't live up to expectations. The actual condition of the hotel is far from what was shown in the photos—there's a big gap between the advertised images and reality. The rooms were outdated, with visible signs of wear and poor maintenance. Some areas had unpleasant odors, and basic cleanliness was lacking. While the location near Idgah Railway Station makes it convenient for getting around Agra, especially for visiting the Taj Mahal, the overall quality of the stay was disappointing. Staff service was minimal, and the room upkeep left much to be desired. For the price, I expected better value and hygiene standards. Would not recommend unless you're looking for a budget option with very limited comfort.

Hotel Marc Royal in Agra didn't meet my expectations. The dining options were extremely limited, and outdoor seating was strictly prohibited—really inconvenient if you're looking for a relaxed meal. The air conditioning was poor, leaving the room uncomfortably warm throughout the night. What stood out the most was their payment policy: they only accept cash, even though Google Pay is accepted. Foreign guests are required to pay in cash, which felt unfair and unprofessional. The manager was unfriendly and offered no assistance when needed. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend staying here—even for just one night. It's not worth the hassle or cost.

Our stay at Lemon Tree Hotel Agra turned out to be a real highlight, especially since the area isn’t very touristy and is quite a distance from major attractions. The restaurant truly saved our night—great food quality, delicious meals, and excellent service. Yes, the price is slightly above average, but honestly, it was totally worth it. Special shoutout to Arun and Himanshu—they were absolutely amazing, always helpful and friendly. Sanjeev also went above and beyond to assist us. The whole team made us feel welcome and well taken care of. From comfort to hospitality, everything was top-notch. If you're visiting Agra, this hotel is definitely a strong choice. We’ll definitely come back.

Staying in room 104, the housekeeping team was absolutely outstanding! The room was spotless and perfectly organized—every detail was taken care of. A special thank you to supervisor Vivek Baghel, who truly made a difference. His communication skills were exceptional—he listened, understood, and responded with genuine warmth and empathy. He spoke not just clearly but with kindness that put everyone at ease. We all felt heard and respected, even when expressing ourselves in our native language. It’s rare to find someone in a hotel who truly understands your needs, especially across language barriers, but Vivek did. He didn’t just serve us—he connected with us. His presence elevated the entire experience. This isn’t just a stay; it’s a memorable, human-centered hospitality moment. Truly unforgettable.
Ranjit Hotel
Our stay at Ranjit Hotel was extremely disappointing. The room lacked basic cleanliness—damp patches were visible on the walls, and there was obvious mold growth, indicating poor maintenance. The bathroom was filthy and had a strong unpleasant odor. To make matters worse, large, fat flies were flying around the room, causing real panic. We reported this to staff multiple times, but no action was taken to resolve the issue. Given the conditions, it's hard to believe this is a functioning hotel. While the price was low, the experience was far from worth it. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone seeking a clean or comfortable stay.
