One small suggestion: extending check-out time to noon would make things even better, especially if you want to enjoy the area a bit longer before heading out. I’d also love to see more frequent housekeeping during the week—maybe two or three times instead of just once. That said, the value for money is excellent, the location is convenient with easy access to downtown Lagos, and public transit makes exploring nearby attractions super simple. Saraiva's Guest House
The location of this guesthouse is actually quite convenient, just a short walk from the center of Lagos, and easily accessible by public transit. However, the apartment I booked was far smaller than advertised—listed as 50 sqm but only about 35 sqm in reality, making it feel extremely cramped. The cleanliness was shocking: dirty dishes, visible mold in the bathroom (on the shower walls, sink, and even the towels), and mold spots on the bed sheets, carpet, and sofa. It felt like stepping into a neglected space. The amenities listed online were completely misleading—no oven, no microwave, no dishwasher, no iron, no barbecue, and certainly no double bed as promised. The kitchen utensils looked outdated and unusable. There’s also no balcony; the entrance is tucked under a metal staircase, which compromises privacy and comfort. The pool is located right next to a busy roundabout at the city entrance—loud, noisy, and not well-maintained. The garden is overgrown and clearly unattended. To make matters worse, the owner frequently enters the apartment not to clean, but simply to use the toilet. Even more disturbing was when he made derogatory comments about French people, implying they exploit Portuguese locals—a deeply uncomfortable moment. Overall, the experience fell drastically short of expectations. The price didn’t justify the condition or service, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
