Leonardo Hotel Köln
I always choose this hotel whenever I'm in Cologne for business trips, and it never disappoints. The room is spacious and immaculately clean—perfect for unwinding after a long day. The view from the window is absolutely stunning, with a direct sightline to Cologne Cathedral. Watching the cathedral light up at dusk is a real highlight. It's a bit further from the city center, but it's only a short metro ride away, making it convenient without the noise and crowds. The staff are friendly, the amenities are top-notch, and the value for money is excellent. If you're visiting Cologne, this is definitely a hotel worth considering—highly recommend!

The location of Hotel Medo Köln is absolutely perfect—just a short walk from the city center and within minutes of major attractions like Cologne Cathedral. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to make our stay comfortable. From check-in to checkout, every interaction felt personal and genuine. The room was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything we needed. It’s rare to find such a great balance between comfort, convenience, and value. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cologne—it’s a standout choice.
Cityfair Apartments Köln
The location of Cityfair Apartments Köln is definitely convenient—just a short walk from the train station, making it easy to get around Cologne. However, the neighborhood itself isn’t very appealing. From the moment we entered the building, we noticed an abandoned bag right behind the main door, along with visible dust and grime in the hallway. The apartment doors are dangerously thin—so flimsy that a light push could easily knock them down. There was a noticeable water stain near the bathroom entrance, and the bathroom floor had stubborn marks that looked like they’d never been cleaned. The single bed was extremely low, so much so that I had to lift my sheets just to make it usable. But even then, the bed frame was covered in stains and dust. After only one night, we couldn’t stay another minute—we packed up and left. For the price, this experience was completely unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, safe, or comfortable stay.
Centro Hotel Ayun
The rooms were clean and the hotel is well-connected by bus and train, making it easy to explore Cologne. Overall, a solid stay with good value for money. The location is convenient, and the service was friendly and efficient. While not luxury, it offers everything you'd expect from a comfortable mid-range hotel. I’d definitely consider staying here again, especially if you're looking for a quiet, reliable base in the city.
Refugium de Luxe Messe-Deutz
We stayed here a few years ago and were absolutely impressed—luxury apartment vibes, clean, spacious, and truly special. This time around, the experience was a major disappointment. The room looked worn out and dirty everywhere: dusty corners, holes in the walls, stains on the bed and floor that were hard to ignore. Even the shower gel was nearly empty—definitely not up to standard. The access code wasn’t sent automatically; we had to ask for it. First impression? Wow. Second impression? Not even close. That said, the double doors and balcony are still a big plus—great for ventilation and fresh air. But overall, the quality has dropped significantly compared to past stays. If management doesn’t address these issues soon, it’s going to be tough to keep guests coming back. It’s sad to see such a once-great place fall behind.

We stayed in Cologne with two friends for Carnival, booking a minimum of four nights. Honestly, we didn’t expect much—we just needed a clean place to rest after long days out. The apartment had two rooms, kitchen, and bathroom, but the furnishings were all IKEA-style, and everything looked worn out and poorly maintained. The mattress was the thinnest one I’ve ever slept on—barely any cushioning at all, so it felt like sleeping directly on the slats. To make matters worse, there was no proper cleaning between guests; leftover food particles were still on the dishes. While the price was reasonable for four nights, the overall condition simply doesn’t justify a good rating. With basic cleaning and some updates to the furniture and bedding, this could be a solid option. As it stands, I can't recommend it unless you're really pressed for time or budget.

Staying at Hotel Arena was a fantastic experience! The room is compact but perfectly functional—everything you need is neatly arranged and spotlessly clean. The front desk staff went above and beyond with their friendly and helpful service, making check-in and check-out smooth and stress-free. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the subway station, giving easy access to all major attractions and city spots. Plus, there’s a shopping mall and supermarket right nearby, so grabbing snacks or essentials is super convenient. For the price and comfort level, this place offers incredible value. I’d definitely book again and highly recommend it to fellow travelers.
Hotel Moji
This hotel is only suitable for a quick overnight stay. The rooms were not very clean, and there were issues with the plumbing—after taking a shower, water pooled on the bathroom floor because the drain didn’t work properly. The mattress was overly soft and uncomfortable, and the furniture looked outdated. Staff weren’t particularly friendly or welcoming. On the positive side, public transportation stops are right outside, making it easy to get around the city. If you're just passing through and need a basic place to rest, it’s acceptable—but don’t expect much beyond that.
Fair Apartments Cologne
Arrived at 6pm on Saturday, June 15th, and nearly walked out just five minutes later. We were five guests staying together, and the apartment was already a tight squeeze for two people. The living area combined with the kitchen was extremely small—just two single beds and a sofa that didn’t fully extend, so it couldn’t be used as a bed at all. The bathroom was terrible, and the shower looked like it came straight from the 1970s—old, poorly maintained, and uncomfortable to use. The overall condition of the unit was far below expectations, especially for the price. If we hadn’t had no other options, we wouldn’t have stayed. Not recommended.
Kaiser Am Wiener Platz
Our stay at Kaiser Am Wiener Platz was disappointing overall. We waited a full 45 minutes for check-in despite being told it would only take 15 minutes—this was misleading and frustrating. The staff member who finally arrived claimed she didn’t know our arrival time, which simply isn’t believable. Breakfast was underwhelming—very basic with only a few bread rolls available, and no coffee left by the time we got there. Not even a simple apology was offered. The rooms themselves were spacious and clean, but lacked air conditioning, which made it uncomfortable during warmer hours. The keycard is ridiculously large and doesn’t fit in any small bag or purse. The hotel feels outdated, and the service was notably unfriendly. While the location is decent, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. I won’t be returning, and I’d hesitate recommending this place to others.

We've stayed at the Burns before, but this visit to The Deutz, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Cologne was truly exceptional. Our biggest highlight was meeting Marcel Deux at reception—he was incredibly friendly, witty, and highly professional. When we expressed dissatisfaction with our Junior Suite 704, he immediately arranged a room change to Suite 92 with zero hassle. His genuine willingness to help made a lasting impression. The hotel’s central location is perfect for exploring the city—just a short walk to the train station and plenty of great dining options nearby. From check-in to checkout, every detail felt thoughtfully curated. This stay exceeded all expectations. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Cologne.
