Located just a 200-meter walk from a well-connected shopping center, everything I needed was within easy reach: groceries, snacks, clothing, and even a few great dining options. The location is unbeatable—super convenient for both exploring the city and enjoying a quiet retreat. Being in a secure, affluent neighborhood added peace of mind, especially during evening walks. Public transport access is excellent, making it simple to get around Johannesburg without needing a car. Overall, this place delivers on every front—cleanliness, convenience, safety, and value. A truly standout stay that I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Sandton.

I stayed at Ecomotel Grayston (formerly Sun1 Wynberg) for one night and overall, it was a decent experience for a budget motel. The location is excellent—close to public transit and surrounded by restaurants and shops, making it very convenient for exploring Johannesburg. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, always willing to assist with any request. However, the rooms themselves are quite small and lacked basic amenities like a minibar or cooling storage, which was a bit inconvenient. The shower had a tiny control knob for adjusting water temperature, and getting warm water took some time—frustrating after a long day. Also, the photos online are misleading; they make the room look much larger and more spacious than it actually is. In reality, only your head and lower legs would be visible in the frame. There was also an incident where a group was locked out of their room, and despite reaching out, reception didn’t resolve it promptly. Still, considering the price point, it’s a solid option if you're looking for a no-frills, functional stay with good service and great access to the city.
