Mandarin Oriental, Santiago

Staying at Mandarin Oriental, Santiago was an absolute delight! Even though the room had a slightly older design, the service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always one step ahead. The pool area is stunning, clean, and perfect for relaxing. With Christmas approaching, the lobby was beautifully decorated with a gorgeous tree, adding a festive touch to our stay. As a honeymoon couple, we were treated to champagne and a small cake—such a sweet surprise! Breakfast was abundant and delicious, offering a great start to each day. The location couldn’t be better—right next to a major shopping mall and just steps from the sightseeing bus stop, making it super convenient to explore the city. And the view from the room? Absolutely breathtaking—panoramic views of Santiago’s skyline that made every moment feel special. This hotel truly delivers on comfort, charm, and memorable experiences. I’d definitely return.

Renaissance Santiago Hotel

This hotel exceeded all my expectations! The room was spotless, beautifully clean, and incredibly comfortable—right away I felt at home. Located in a safe, central area, it’s just a short walk to public transit and downtown attractions. I especially loved the breakfast spread: fresh fruit, granola, eggs, bacon, yogurt, and juice—all high quality and plentiful. There are tons of great restaurants nearby, so dining out is never an issue. As a frequent business traveler, I appreciate how well-priced this place is for the level of service and comfort. It’s rare to find such a perfect balance between convenience, safety, and value. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I visit Santiago.

Providencia Bed & Breakfast

Once again, we absolutely loved our stay! This was our second visit to this charming bed & breakfast, and it didn’t disappoint. While the setting is rustic, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and truly special. Yamille and Ignácio go above and beyond with their hospitality—genuine, thoughtful, and full of local tips to enhance our experience. They made us feel like family, offering little touches and support in every way possible. The location is perfect: quiet, picturesque street just steps away from grocery stores and shops, yet still peaceful and safe. We highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a genuine, cozy retreat in Santiago.

Absolutely exceptional stay! From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm and welcoming. The room was spotless, beautifully designed with a perfect mix of modern comfort and local charm—luxurious yet cozy. The staff went above and beyond: friendly, attentive, and always smiling. They even helped with our luggage and offered great tips on nearby spots to explore. Breakfast was a highlight—freshly baked bread, homemade jams, and rich local coffee that made mornings feel special. Location is fantastic too—just a short walk from the city center and easy access to public transit. Every detail was thoughtfully done, making us feel truly at home. Hotel Luciano K

Staying at Hotel Luciano K felt like stepping into a living piece of Santiago’s history. Built back in 1820 by one of the city’s most renowned local architects, this place has that timeless elegance reminiscent of old-world luxury hotels—think classic European charm with a distinctly Chilean soul. The vintage elevator still works, adding a nostalgic touch to every ride up to the rooftop lounge and restaurant. From there, the views are unforgettable: the iconic Cerro Santa Lucía, the tallest building in South Africa (yes, really), and the distant Andes mountains stretching across the horizon. Sunset and moonrise here are simply magical. I stayed for eight days, and by the end, the staff all knew me by name—friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. Breakfast was generous and delicious, while dinner at the rooftop venue was surprisingly excellent. The hotel is perfectly located in Santiago’s cultural heart. Walking distance takes you to top restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and major attractions. Right across the street is a huge open-air food plaza where you can hop on a cable car up to Cerro Santa Lucía for panoramic views of the entire city. Nearby, a vibrant art market offers quirky little souvenirs and handmade crafts. Across from the hotel lies a spacious park with a historic 1900s horse-drawn carriage path—about two kilometers long—leading straight to the National Art Museum. Perfect for morning runs or quiet strolls. This isn’t just a stay—it’s an experience. For anyone who loves heritage, atmosphere, and great service, this hotel delivers beyond expectations. Highly recommend.

Hotel Torremayor Lyon

The service here was excellent—staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. While the breakfast selection was a bit basic, it didn’t take away from the overall great experience. What really stood out was how convenient the location was: right in the heart of Santiago with an amazing variety of restaurants just steps away. From local Chilean cuisine to international options, there’s something for every taste. Easy access to public transit makes exploring the city a breeze. A fantastic stay overall—definitely recommend and will be back.

Hotel Las Flores

The hotel is decent and comfortable overall, though the walls show some signs of moisture. Luckily, the heating works well, so we never felt cold during our stay. The staff were exceptional—especially the lady who prepared breakfast and handled housekeeping. She was incredibly kind and attentive, making our experience much more pleasant. One thing to note: quietness is required in the rooms, so please keep noise levels down to respect fellow guests. It's a solid choice for travelers looking for a no-frills, friendly stay with good value. Located conveniently near public transit, it’s easy to explore Santiago without hassle.

Italia Suite

I arrived at 2:00 PM and even though I had mentioned in advance that I'd be checking in late, no one answered the door or offered any assistance. It was frustrating to show up and have no staff available to greet me or help with check-in. The location is decent—close to public transit and downtown—but the lack of basic hospitality really let down the experience. For the price, you’d expect a little more professionalism, especially when guests are arriving after hours. Definitely not something I’d recommend.

Ventana Sur Hostal

Tucked away on a quiet street in a charming part of Santiago, Ventana Sur Hostal is an absolute gem. Ivan and Lex, the hosts, go above and beyond—offering local tips, a welcoming glass of wine, and even a slice of homemade pizza. The pool is perfect for summer days, and the shaded terrace is ideal for relaxing with a book or chatting with fellow travelers. The common areas are warm and inviting, making it easy to connect with people from around the world. Breakfast is included every morning and is deliciously simple. We stayed in a private room by the pool—quiet, comfortable, and beautifully kept. It’s no surprise that many guests, including ourselves, are already planning a return visit. In fact, several travelers we met had come back multiple times. If every stay in South America could be this enjoyable, we’d be thrilled. This place truly feels like home.

Hotel Boutique Holitel

Staying at the Holitel Hotel in Santiago's Los Leones district was an absolute pleasure. The hotel feels welcoming and well-managed, with a warm atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. My room was cozy and thoughtfully designed—clean, quiet, and equipped with strong Wi-Fi, perfect for staying connected on the go. What really stood out was the included breakfast: fresh, delicious, and varied, offering a great start to each day. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from shopping areas and public transit, making it easy to explore the city. I truly enjoyed every moment of my stay and would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone visiting Santiago. It’s not just a place to sleep—it’s a comfortable, stylish retreat.

Brizen Apartments Pedro de Valdivia

My stay at Brizen Apartments Pedro de Valdivia was a major disappointment. From the moment I arrived, there were issues with check-in—apparently I had to register at the front desk, but the building is residential and security was extremely lax. The doorman wasn’t even checking IDs, letting almost anyone in. The main entrance door was broken and barely functional, which added to the unease. The elevator creaked like it was about to fall apart, and the hallway smelled strongly of garbage and something else unpleasant—really off-putting. By the time I got to my unit, I just wanted to collapse. Inside, the apartment looked okay at first glance, but the bathroom showed clear signs of poor cleaning—stains on the tiles, like it hadn’t been properly sanitized before my arrival. The balcony was littered with cigarette butts. I was exhausted and tried to sleep, but the noise from outside was unbearable: constant traffic, buses rumbling by, loud exhaust fans from nearby restaurants, and people shouting on the street well past 2 a.m. It was impossible to rest. I reached out for a refund, but received no response. Overall, this was one of the worst stays I’ve ever had—poor maintenance, weak security, and extreme noise pollution. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Hostal Vitalia

I stayed in a private room, which was decent and comfortable overall. One thing to note is the lighting—since the window faces a pizzeria and there’s no blackout curtain, it might be disruptive for light-sensitive sleepers. I was initially worried about noise, especially since free earplugs are available at reception, but surprisingly, I wasn’t bothered at all—probably due to exhaustion. The bathroom raised some concerns: I nearly slipped twice because the so-called “bathtub” has no handrails or support at all. Also, the shower water suddenly turned cold more than once during my stay, which startled me and made me lose balance. That said, the street the hostel is on is fantastic—full of great restaurants and a lively vibe. Breakfast is included, though I didn’t have it. The shared kitchen is a nice touch for travelers who want to cook their own meals. Other rooms and bathrooms are basic but clean and well-maintained. It’s definitely not luxury, but for the price, it’s a solid option if you’re looking for a budget-friendly base in Santiago.
