When the ferry stops running at night, you can easily cross via tunnel and return comfortably. I did notice some barking from the nearby military dog training facility, but the hotel has taken great steps to address it—rooms facing that side have double-glazed windows with excellent sound insulation, so noise is barely noticeable. There’s also a cozy little courtyard behind the lobby where you can sit with a cup of tea and soak up the sun—a peaceful retreat.
