The location is unbeatable—right next to Zhenzhu Bay Beach, perfect for families with kids who love digging in the sand and enjoying the sea breeze on a bike ride. The views are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. Staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive—always smiling, ready to help, and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, and they even included a complimentary afternoon tea, which was such a nice surprise. The outdoor pool and dedicated family-friendly activity space made it ideal for both relaxation and fun. My kids had a blast, and I felt completely recharged. This hotel truly delivers on every level—comfort, convenience, and service. I’d absolutely stay here again if I ever return to Xiamen!

The guest manager, Xiao Luo, went above and beyond—she reached out before check-in to confirm details and checked in regularly during our stay to ensure everything was satisfactory. On checkout day, she even arranged a late departure without hassle, which was incredibly thoughtful. The room itself was spotless and comfortable, with soft bedding that made for a restful night’s sleep. The housekeeping staff were thorough and attentive, leaving no corner untouched. Every team member we interacted with showed genuine warmth and professionalism. From start to finish, the service felt personal and caring. Check-in was a bit stressful at first, but the on-duty manager handled everything with great empathy and professionalism. After a calm conversation, the issue was resolved smoothly—and they even surprised me with afternoon tea, evening entertainment, and a bottle of wine. The next day’s airport transfer was excellent too; driver Andy was friendly, courteous, and helped carry my luggage without being asked. We had a pleasant chat throughout the ride. A few suggestions for improvement: the afternoon tea selection was limited, and the fruit—especially the watermelon—wasn’t very fresh. Dinner options were also quite narrow. The room stayed chilly despite running the heater all night—temperature barely reached 15°C, so adding a heating option would be helpful. Also, breakfast was missing some items, and they weren’t replenished promptly. That said, the overall experience was still positive. The staff responded quickly to feedback, and the views from the room were stunning—especially sunrise in the morning. One small disappointment: no capsule or instant coffee available, which is common even in budget hotels. Adding that would make the stay much more convenient for guests who rely on coffee.

We first visited this place 30 years ago during our honeymoon—just one night, but it left a lasting impression. Back then, the vast beach had only this garden villa, with its own private dock—so unique and iconic. Fast forward to today, we returned to relive those memories, and were amazed by how much the hotel has evolved. Now a three-story modern property with a swimming pool and full dining service, it’s no longer just for government officials’ retreats. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming—especially when we arrived with heavy luggage; the bellhop immediately stepped in to help carry our bags to the room. A special shout-out to the male restaurant manager, Xiao Lan, who greeted us with genuine enthusiasm. He personally handled all our meal arrangements over two days, and every dish was delicious and thoughtfully curated. The breakfast was outstanding—fresh seafood, steak, fruit, pastries, plus a wide variety of drinks and vegetables, truly on par with a five-star hotel. This anniversary trip exceeded all expectations. We’re already planning our next visit to Gulangyu—this is hands-down our top choice, not just for nostalgia but for the exceptional experience and value. Highly recommended!

The hotel’s design beautifully blends nostalgic Peranakan charm with French elegance, and the lush courtyard with its soft play of light through the long corridors creates such a peaceful, serene atmosphere—perfect for unwinding. The lobby is on the third floor, and having luggage delivered straight to your room upon arrival was such a thoughtful touch. My room had a warm red palette paired with bamboo accents and herringbone wood flooring—very much rooted in Fujian style while still feeling luxurious and modern. Upon check-in, I was greeted with a complimentary minibar and fresh welcome fruit, and the Happy Hour offering a variety of salads, snacks, fruits, and local delicacies was a real highlight. I upgraded my room, and over three days, the service remained consistently attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. There was a minor hiccup during my stay, but my hostess Bettie handled it with remarkable sincerity—she apologized promptly, offered a small gift as a gesture of goodwill, and even included a local specialty. While I politely declined the gift, what truly mattered was her genuine effort to make things right. The second-floor spa was another standout—using La Mer products left my skin feeling revitalized and glowing. Overall, this experience wasn’t just about luxury—it was about thoughtful hospitality that truly makes you feel seen.
