Stayed at Lujiang Mega Hotel during New Year's in Xiamen and was completely blown away by the experience. The location is unbeatable—right next to Zhenzhu Bay Beach, perfect for families with kids who love digging in the sand and enjoying the sea breeze on a bike ride. The views are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. Staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive—always smiling, ready to help, and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, and they even included a complimentary afternoon tea, which was such a nice surprise. The outdoor pool and dedicated family-friendly activity space made it ideal for both relaxation and fun. My kids had a blast, and I felt completely recharged. This hotel truly delivers on every level—comfort, convenience, and service. I’d absolutely stay here again if I ever return to Xiamen!

On checkout day, she even arranged a late departure without hassle, which was incredibly thoughtful. Every team member we interacted with showed genuine warmth and professionalism. From start to finish, the service felt personal and caring. Check-in was a bit stressful at first, but the on-duty manager handled everything with great empathy and professionalism. After a calm conversation, the issue was resolved smoothly—and they even surprised me with afternoon tea, evening entertainment, and a bottle of wine. The next day’s airport transfer was excellent too; driver Andy was friendly, courteous, and helped carry my luggage without being asked. We had a pleasant chat throughout the ride. A few suggestions for improvement: the afternoon tea selection was limited, and the fruit—especially the watermelon—wasn’t very fresh. Dinner options were also quite narrow. The room stayed chilly despite running the heater all night—temperature barely reached 15°C, so adding a heating option would be helpful. Also, breakfast was missing some items, and they weren’t replenished promptly. That said, the overall experience was still positive. The staff responded quickly to feedback, and the views from the room were stunning—especially sunrise in the morning. One small disappointment: no capsule or instant coffee available, which is common even in budget hotels. Adding that would make the stay much more convenient for guests who rely on coffee.

I started with a king-size room and later switched to a twin-bed room. Honestly, I found the king-size room had a more spacious and open layout—much more comfortable overall. The twin room was still quite large, but felt slightly cramped in comparison, especially the bathroom area. It also seemed less well-maintained—the tiles had water stains, and there was a faint odor coming from the drain. That said, cleanliness across the room was still good, and the beds were nicely soft with high-quality linens that made for a very restful night’s sleep. If the twin room’s maintenance could be improved—especially around the bathroom—the experience would be even better. Overall, the king-size room stood out as the clear winner in terms of comfort and space, making it a great choice for travelers who value a relaxed, airy feel.

A special shout-out to the male restaurant manager, Xiao Lan, who greeted us with genuine enthusiasm. He personally handled all our meal arrangements over two days, and every dish was delicious and thoughtfully curated. The breakfast was outstanding—fresh seafood, steak, fruit, pastries, plus a wide variety of drinks and vegetables, truly on par with a five-star hotel. This anniversary trip exceeded all expectations. We’re already planning our next visit to Gulangyu—this is hands-down our top choice, not just for nostalgia but for the exceptional experience and value. Highly recommended!
