Everything was within easy reach, and I especially loved walking around Baituizhou Lake just downstairs—the views were stunning, especially at sunset. One of the little touches I truly appreciated? This isn’t something you read in a museum or see in a documentary—it’s real, raw, and deeply human. The setting itself feels like stepping into a Studio Ghibli film: quiet, poetic, and effortlessly beautiful. Walking through the garden, you’re greeted by lush green lawns, playful dogs running free, and endless views of the ocean stretching beyond the horizon—all natural, unforced, and full of soul. And then there’s the food: Auntie’s slow-cooked pig stomach lotus root soup, and the rustic charcoal-fired rice—simple yet profoundly comforting. Every bite reminded me why I love traveling. The family is genuinely kind, full of heart, and each member adds their own charm—especially the older brother trying so hard to impress (and succeeding!). I brought my international girlfriend here to experience Xiamen University and the local vibe, and being so close to campus, the seaside, and the famous Zengcu’An night market made it perfect. There’s fresh seafood everywhere—literally on every corner. The moment we arrived, the host family welcomed us warmly with genuine smiles. They’re super attentive and always ready to help. The room itself is spotless and incredibly quiet—ideal for a good night’s sleep. Free washing machine access plus a spacious balcony for drying clothes? Yes please. Even underwear can be hung inside the room thanks to the built-in hanger, and natural light floods in. I even used the rooftop balcony to dry laundry overnight—it dried completely by morning. Hot water was plentiful, no issues there. But the real highlight? Breakfast. I had my first-ever seafood noodle soup here, and wow—the broth was rich and deeply flavorful. Honestly, better than any ramen I’ve had in Japan. If you're ever visiting Zengcu’An again, I’ll definitely bring more friends from abroad. On a sunny day, sitting in the backyard with a cup of tea would be absolutely ideal. The room itself was spotless and beautifully designed with a minimalist, modern touch. Everything you’d need was provided: shampoo, body wash, toothbrushes, towels, bath sheets, hairdryer, electric kettle—all thoughtfully included. The water heater delivered strong, consistent hot water, making showers very comfortable. We even got plastic slippers for use in the bathroom. The bed was incredibly cozy, and we slept like babies. Even though it was raining during our stay, lying in bed listening to the gentle sound of rain tapping against the balcony window was oddly peaceful. There were few other guests around, so the place felt quiet and intimate. While the property isn’t right next to a metro station, getting there by taxi or bus was easy and convenient. Unfortunately, we couldn’t explore the neighborhood due to the weather, but I’ll definitely come back if I visit Xiamen again. This place offers an unbeatable mix of comfort, charm, and value—highly recommend!
