One minor issue arose when the air conditioning wasn’t working properly—we reached out to the night receptionist, who responded promptly and came up to assist us without delay. That kind of service made a positive impression. However, our check-in experience started off a bit awkward. The front desk agent seemed unapproachable and simply stated that our booked city-view room would be as-is. When we entered the room on the 6th floor, there was no view at all—just two adjacent walls. After requesting a change, we were moved to an 11th-floor room, but the staff member explained we’d need to speak directly to the manager (who was off-duty that day). The next morning, we approached the manager, who was extremely helpful and immediately upgraded us to a better room with actual views, eliminating the wall-facing issue. This contrast in service quality highlighted an opportunity for improvement—especially with younger front-desk staff. A little more warmth, initiative, and willingness to proactively assist guests (like offering to contact a supervisor) could go a long way. We spent ten wonderful days in Lisbon during Chinese New Year at HF FÉNIX LISBOA, and it was truly a highlight of our trip. The location is unbeatable—just steps away from Eduardo VII Park, and walking in the opposite direction leads you straight to the upscale shopping street, with easy access to the cathedral, Praça do Comércio, and the Arco da Rua Augusta. We stayed ten days and still couldn’t get enough! Having visited Lisbon four times before, we’ve tried other nearby hotels, but none compare to HF FÉNIX in terms of comfort, service, and charm.
