While we weren’t planning on booking at Oak-Mar Motel—having stayed there before and found it just okay—we were pleasantly surprised by the recent renovations. The entire property has been refreshed, with upgraded beds, modern furniture, and tasteful decor that really elevates the experience. Despite the improvements, the rates remain very reasonable. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and welcoming. Having a diner right on-site was a real plus—we noticed locals eating there throughout our stay, which gave us confidence in the quality of the food. There are also several great dining options nearby, including a fantastic BBQ spot just a 5-10 minute walk away that smokes all its meats in-house—highly recommended. This trip completely changed our opinion, and we’re already planning to return.
