Perfect for solo travelers! The hotel feels secure and well-organized, with separate floors for men and women—great for privacy. This has to be the most thoughtful hostel I've ever stayed at. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how well-prepared they were for every need—free tea bags, coffee, toothpicks, cotton swabs, moisturizer, hair ties… even things I didn’t think to bring myself. The bathroom area is fantastic with five private rooms, and there’s a non-slip mat just outside each door—such a smart touch for safety and comfort. Kitchen essentials, hair dryers, washing machines, and a fridge are all available, plus everything you might not even realize you’d need. They require guests to change into indoor slippers upon entry, which really shows their commitment to cleanliness. The 6-person dorm is surprisingly spacious, and they’ve thought of everything—even including towel racks! Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: just a 2-minute walk to Dihua Street, 5 minutes to Beimen Station, and less than 10 minutes on foot to Ningxia Night Market. Perfect for exploring Taipei’s vibrant streets and food scene. Everything about this place—from service to facilities to convenience—deserves a perfect score. If you’re visiting Taipei, this hostel is an absolute must-book.
Ti Hwa Hotel
This was my first solo trip to Taipei, and staying at Ti Hwa Hotel made the whole experience so much easier. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from major attractions and bustling night markets, perfect for soaking in the local culture and tasting authentic Taiwanese food. The only thing I noticed was that the area gets quiet at night, but honestly, that’s a plus for me—it meant better sleep and a peaceful atmosphere. The hotel is literally on the bustling pedestrian zone, so dining, shopping, and exploring are all within steps. Before arrival, I called to confirm check-in details and room preferences—the staff were incredibly polite and even proactively arranged a room with a window, which made our stay much more enjoyable. The room isn’t huge, but it comfortably fits two double beds and has ample space for luggage. Air conditioning works like a charm with adjustable temperature control—crisp and cool during summer nights. The fridge is impressively cold—our soda froze in minutes! That’s a big win for those who love icy drinks. The bathroom offers strong hot water pressure, and there's a quality Panasonic hairdryer. Daily housekeeping is excellent: fresh linens, new towels, four bottles of water, and replenished toiletries every day. The front desk provides a clear MRT map highlighting nearby night markets and transport options—super helpful for first-time visitors. There’s also a free water dispenser (hot and cold) on-site, and each room comes with an electric kettle—ideal for tea or instant coffee anytime. We booked two rooms for four people total, and the price was incredibly reasonable. For comfort, convenience, and value, this hotel hits all the right notes. While the building is older, that didn’t affect my experience at all. The room was clean, well-maintained, and spacious with modern amenities. The bathroom was particularly impressive—spotless and thoughtfully designed. Despite its age, the property offers a comfortable, cozy atmosphere and excellent service. I’d definitely book again and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Taipei.
