The only downside was some construction noise from the adjacent site during daytime hours, which could be slightly disruptive. However, this didn’t significantly affect the overall experience. With its prime beachfront location, excellent service, and great value, I’d definitely recommend this hotel. It’s also very convenient for getting around town via public transit.

We stayed on the air floor (the top level), which offered breathtaking views, a light and airy atmosphere, and smart room technology that made everything so convenient. The spa experience was outstanding—my wife loved it. The pool was warm and perfect for relaxing, floating, or just soaking up the sun in quiet solitude. I’d have loved to explore the water-themed floor too, but it was undergoing renovation, so I’ll definitely check it out next time. In Sochi, it’s rare to find such a calm retreat without noisy kids disrupting the peace—here, you can truly unwind and reconnect with yourself. The restaurant was excellent—the food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Every detail felt intentional and well-executed. 10/10—this is a gem worth returning to.

Unfortunately, only rooms with faux windows were available, but we shrugged it off and made the right call. It didn’t affect us at all since we only used the room for sleeping. The best part? We saved a lot on accommodation without sacrificing comfort. The room came fully equipped: bathrobes, slippers, powerful hairdryer—everything we needed. Furniture looked nearly new, and the overall ambiance felt fresh and well-maintained. Breakfast was outstanding—huge portions, delicious, and served with genuine hospitality. Staff went above and beyond; anything we asked for, they happily provided. The location couldn’t be better. We took taxis only once or twice—we could walk to almost every attraction. Beach was just a 10-minute stroll away, and right nearby were the Winter Theatre, Ostrovsky Museum, and the bustling Kurortny Prospekt packed with cafes and restaurants. We visited the spa twice, and the stone therapy was absolutely incredible—felt like I’d been reborn after each session. Prices were very reasonable, making it a real gem. Definitely coming back.

The guest house has a fully equipped kitchen, a traditional wood-fired sauna with a small indoor pool, and a beautifully maintained garden. Coming back from exploring downtown Sochi to this serene retreat felt like stepping into a different world. The family room was spacious, comfortable, and well-furnished with everything we needed. Our large window opened directly onto a little garden that was already blooming with flowers—such a lovely touch. We’d highly recommend Matsesta Guest House for a relaxing getaway, no matter the season.

It’s just a 4-minute walk to the beach—ideal for morning strolls or sunset views. There’s also a kitchen on the ground floor, which was great for preparing simple meals. I’ll definitely keep this place in mind for future trips to Sochi. A solid choice if you’re looking for value, comfort, and convenience.
Sonata Hotel
We stayed at Sonata Hotel in August 2024, and while the cleanliness was excellent—with daily housekeeping—it was disappointing to experience such poor service upon arrival. The hotel is very close to the beach and just a short walk from the electric train station, making it convenient for exploring Sochi. However, when we arrived early and had already coordinated with the front desk, the security guard refused to let us in and even tried to escort us out with our child. It felt extremely unwelcoming, especially after paying extra for early check-in. The manager who eventually arrived didn’t offer any apology, which left us feeling upset and frustrated. Our mood remained low throughout the stay, despite the clean rooms and pleasant seaside walks that helped lift spirits. To our dismay, the same unfriendly staff member was there again during check-out, repeating the same cold attitude. While the location and cleanliness were positives, the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy made the experience unpleasant. We won’t be returning—no matter how free the offer. For the price, guests deserve better than being treated like intruders.

I was searching for a hotel in late May 2024 for a stay at the beginning of July, so I booked well in advance to secure a good option. I found Golden House Hotel, made the reservation immediately, and paid upfront. Then on June 13th, I received a message that my booking had been canceled—no warning, no explanation, just gone. It caused me a lot of stress trying to find another hotel last minute, and prices had doubled by then. I was extremely disappointed. Even more frustrating was realizing that my original room was still available for booking on their website. This lack of communication and transparency really damaged my trust in the platform. I expected better from a service that claims to be reliable.
Prosperus Guest House
We stayed at Prosperus Guest House with our family for five days and were extremely disappointed. The walk to the beach is long and goes along a poorly lit road with no pedestrian path—cars zoom past, making it unsafe and stressful. All nearby shops are far away, so getting essentials was inconvenient. On the first day, the water supply suddenly stopped, and we had to wait a full day for repairs—no help came from the front desk staff, Oksana, despite repeated requests. The room itself was subpar: the shower cabin was tiny, dirty, and showed clear signs of mold; the refrigerator barely cooled, and there were cracks in the walls where ants were crawling. The bedding and towels weren’t fresh or clean. To make matters worse, directly above our room was a yoga center that produced constant noise—footsteps, chatter, and strange sounds—especially disruptive at night. Overall, this stay was frustrating and uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The location, cleanliness, service, and noise levels all fall short. Save your time and money—this place isn’t worth it.
Morskaya Zvezda
The hotel lives up to its two-star rating and even exceeds expectations in several areas. The food quality is excellent, the rooms are clean, and the pool is a nice touch. That said, there are a few things that could be improved. The beds definitely need replacing—creaking noises and sagging mattresses make for an uncomfortable sleep. The pillows aren’t very supportive either. Also, the air conditioners could use a good cleaning—they’re dusty and don’t seem to be maintained regularly. Despite these minor issues, overall it’s a solid stay, especially considering the price point. For a budget-friendly option in Sochi, this place offers great value and a pleasant experience.
