Staying at Orange Hotel near Huanghe Tower and Yangtze River Bridge was an absolute highlight of my trip to Wuhan. The hotel is just over a hundred meters from both landmarks—literally a quick walk away, and the nearby Dacheng Road food street is perfect for late-night cravings. I tried everything from hú tāng fěn and zhuǎi zǐ xiàn bǐng to richly flavored shāo mài, and there’s this one unnamed stinky tofu shop with amazing bean-based dishes that I couldn’t stop thinking about. The location is super easy to find, and while the room does feel a bit dated, cleanliness was acceptable overall. The only minor issue was a faint odor in the bathroom, but honestly, it didn’t ruin the experience. For the price and convenience, this place offers great value and is definitely worth considering if you’re exploring Wuhan's historic sites.

However, if you're arriving by car, don’t just type in the hotel name directly into your GPS—doing so will lead you down a narrow alleyway that’s tricky to navigate. Instead, aim for the hotel entrance from Zhangzhidong Avenue to avoid confusion. Also worth noting: not all rooms have river views. I booked a non-riverside room on my first day, but after upgrading and requesting a riverside view for my second night, the view was absolutely worth it. So definitely specify ‘riverside view’ when booking. Overall, the hotel delivers excellent value with its location, service, and comfort—highly recommend for travelers visiting Wuhan.

A friendly front-desk attendant not only helped carry my luggage upstairs but also patiently re-arranged my room to one I was truly happy with. Even better, welcome fruits and a little pack of monkey head mushroom cookies were waiting in my room—a sweet touch that made me smile. The next day, after running errands until 3 PM, I returned exhausted, only to find my phone dead and unable to check in due to a queue at the front desk.
