This place is absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, everything felt so welcoming and special. Our room, Egypt, was stunning — a breathtaking ocean view, a private porch perfect for morning coffee, a hot tub, and comfy outdoor loungers. The cleanliness and attention to detail were top-notch. Breakfast was an experience: fresh fruit, daily rotating yogurt flavors, granola, and that famous coffee served in traditional clay mugs — pure joy. And then came Tatiana’s personal touch — her delicious final breakfast course was unforgettable. Just one block from El Malecón, it’s easy to walk down and hop on a pulmonía or araña to explore the city. But the real highlight? Tatiana herself. She’s not just the owner — she’s a local guide, friend, and tour planner all in one. She arranged a fantastic trip to El Quelite at a great price, including a delicious meal. Gustavo joined us too — warm, fun, and full of insider knowledge. They made us feel like family. The property is secure, beautifully maintained, and incredibly peaceful. You come here as a guest… and leave as a friend. If you’re visiting Mazatlán, this is the only place to stay.

Staying at Sunvivia by Fiesta Americana Mazatlán was mostly a positive experience—right from the moment we walked through the front door, the staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Our initial room wasn’t ideal, but they quickly upgraded us to a sea-view room with just a small daily fee increase—really appreciated that kind of flexibility and hospitality. However, things took a turn for the worse on day two: the elevator broke down without any warning or explanation. The lights in our room kept flickering, and the main entrance door wouldn’t close properly at night. We had to prop it shut with chairs just to feel safe. We reported the issues every single day, only to be told, ‘We’ll file a report,’ which never led to any actual fix. When we brought it up again to the front desk, the response was simply, ‘OK, we’ll make a report.’ No apology, no follow-up, not even a gesture of goodwill. In the end, we were offered a free beer—nothing more. While the hotel’s location and overall vibe are strong, the lack of maintenance support and poor communication left a bad taste. If you’re considering a stay here, know that while the service can be warm, reliability and problem-solving need serious improvement.
