While enjoying a drink at the restaurant, I asked about the local specialty, bouillabaisse, and within minutes received a handwritten note listing three nearby restaurants where I could try it. The location couldn’t be better—right on the old port, just steps from the square. Walking around Marseille was so convenient, and everything felt effortlessly smooth. This place truly delivers on comfort, charm, and hospitality. A perfect stay—definitely worth returning to.

I was in room 404 and 717, located at the corner ends of the floor—though the rooms are triangular in shape, they felt surprisingly spacious and not cramped at all. The room was immaculately clean, with all amenities in perfect working order, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff went above and beyond with their hospitality—friendly, efficient, and always ready to help. Sure, the immediate neighborhood isn’t the most glamorous (more local and residential), but it’s just a 1.5-kilometer walk to the Palais Longchamp, which is absolutely worth the stroll. You get a genuine feel for the city while enjoying a peaceful pace. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value, especially if you’re looking to explore Marseille on foot. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The bathroom didn’t come with hand towels or a hairdryer—both had to be requested at reception and returned immediately. If you wanted to keep the dryer, you had to leave your ID as collateral, which felt a bit odd. Our bed was very noisy and stiff, and the pillows were overly soft with no shape, so they weren’t great for comfort. If you’re sensitive to noise or have trouble sleeping, avoid weekends—the building is right above bars and restaurants, and even with double-glazed windows, street sounds carried through clearly. Overall, the price-to-quality ratio is fair for a budget stay, but the rooms are definitely basic. It’s best suited for travelers looking for a simple, no-frills overnight option rather than a relaxing retreat.

The apartment was spacious, beautifully furnished, and incredibly comfortable, with a great location just steps from everything we wanted to explore. It’s rare to find such a thoughtful and personalized experience, and we couldn’t have asked for more. As locals familiar with the vibrant energy of Marseille—something we absolutely love—we were completely surprised to discover this peaceful retreat nestled just minutes from the city center, high up in the hills. The scenery feels straight out of a Pagnol film: rustic, charming, and utterly serene. Florence and her husband welcome you with genuine warmth and simplicity that instantly puts you at ease. The two well-appointed rooms, the lovely pool, the lush garden, and especially the homemade breakfast—each element truly makes your stay unforgettable. This has been the worst hotel experience of my life. The room was damp with a strong moldy smell, walls had visible holes, and the bathroom reeked of dog odor—completely unacceptable. There was only one power outlet in the entire room, and I had to rely on a portable electric heater for warmth. The TV was filthy, and the staff were extremely unpleasant—threatening to raise my deposit from €60 to €160 just because I mentioned some minor issues. The overall condition, cleanliness, and service were appalling. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, not even as a last resort. If you're visiting Marseille, skip this hotel entirely—there are far better options available.
