I was also thrilled to find Aesop amenities in the bathroom—small details that speak volumes about attention to quality. But the standout? The personal concierge, @Sena. She truly anticipated every need before I even asked—from helping plan our itinerary before arrival to securing restaurant reservations and local tips during our stay. Her warmth and professionalism made all the difference. And then there’s the dining experience at “Xian Cheng” on the 6th floor, recently awarded a Michelin Star. The Cantonese-Fujian fusion cuisine is exquisite: the Buddha’s Delight (Fo Tiao Qiang) is rich and aromatic, the satay black tiger prawns burst with flavor, and the ginger duck is simply unforgettable. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—upon check-in, they upgraded me to a larger room without any extra charge. The hotel is well-maintained, with clean rooms, comfortable beds, and modern facilities. Free parking is a big plus for travelers driving in. The bedding stands out—medium-firm mattress, perfectly balanced for comfort, and a down duvet that’s light yet cozy enough to keep you warm all night. Staff are attentive and helpful; they greeted us warmly, shared details about laundry facilities and breakfast timing, and even offered a thoughtful late-night bowl of hot porridge. Cleanliness is top-notch—the bathroom features full dry-wet separation, with spotless white tiles and no lingering chemical smell in the towels. The lobby lounge area is a real gem—quiet, tastefully designed, with complimentary aromatic tea and a peaceful vibe ideal for working remotely or meeting a friend. The only minor drawback? The room size is compact, around 20 sqm—opening a 28-inch suitcase leaves little walking space, so if you're traveling with a partner, you might need to take turns unpacking. Stayed at Putian Hotel (Xiamen Mingfa Plaza) and was genuinely impressed by the outstanding value for money. The room was surprisingly spacious—far bigger than expected for the price—and everything was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. The new front desk staff member, Yu Ni, was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Even when we weren’t sure how to ask our questions, she patiently guided us through everything. Location is excellent too—just a short walk from Xiamen Railway Station and surrounded by great dining options. I’ll definitely be booking here again on my next trip to Xiamen!
Lai Xinyueju Homestay
Staying at this homestay was a delightful surprise! The place is spotlessly clean with a fully equipped kitchen, and all appliances, air conditioning, and furniture were in perfect condition. We were six people, and the space felt spacious and comfortable throughout our stay. The hostess was incredibly attentive—fresh towels and water were provided daily, which made everything so convenient. It's also very well-located near the metro, making it easy to explore the city.
