Wow, we got upgraded to a better room upon check-in—what a pleasant surprise! The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning, with panoramic sea and mountain vistas. It’s super convenient too: just a short walk up a slight hill leads to restaurants and supermarkets, so you’ve got everything you need right nearby. The only downside? The city center is a bit of a distance away, but there’s a bus stop right outside the hotel, making transit easy. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming—mostly standard Western-style options with very few warm or hearty choices like soups or stews. That said, the bathroom amenities were decent, at least they came from a recognizable brand. Overall, this place offers great value, comfort, and a beautiful setting. Definitely worth staying again!

Pestana Casino Park Hotel & Casino

This hotel exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, Rita at reception was incredibly welcoming and made check-in so smooth. I was assigned a fantastic room with stunning views, and the nighttime scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast area overlooks the vast Atlantic Ocean—waking up to that view is pure magic. The breakfast spread was impressive, especially the selection of fresh fruits, which were juicy and delicious. Every detail, from the service to the ambiance, felt exceptional. It’s rare to find such a perfect blend of comfort, beauty, and hospitality. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Funchal.

Pestana Grand Ocean Resort Hotel

This was hands down our most satisfying hotel stay yet. Casa Velha do Palheiro Relais & Chateaux

Staying at this property was an absolute delight from start to finish. The moment you step into the grounds, you're greeted by lush gardens, a serene tea house, a rejuvenating spa, and a stunning pool—all thoughtfully designed and beautifully maintained. We were lucky enough to enjoy breakfast in the garden, which felt like a true luxury. The entire atmosphere is peaceful yet elegant, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. Unfortunately, we only had one night here, but it left such a lasting impression that we’d love to return. Every detail reflects excellence, and the service was warm and attentive. This place truly lives up to its reputation—highly recommend for anyone seeking a memorable, high-end retreat.
