Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Mitsuike Park

Yokohama Marriott Hotel is a top choice, located within walking distance of Mihama Park and offering stunning views of the harbor and lush greenery from its rooms. The hotel features family-friendly amenities, including kids’ activities and spacious suites, plus complimentary shuttle services to downtown Yokohama.

Another excellent option is a design boutique hotel near the Red Brick Warehouse, just a 10-minute walk from the park. This modern property blends Japanese aesthetics with contemporary comfort, surrounded by art galleries, cafes, and cultural boutiques—perfect for families seeking both relaxation and local immersion during their visit to Mihama Park.

The most convenient option is taking the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line from the nearest station near Mihama Park to Yokohama Station, a mere 15-minute ride. This station connects to major lines serving key districts like Kanematsu, Minato Mirai, and even Shinjuku.

Alternatively, local buses run directly from stops near the park to the Red Brick Warehouse and Yamate area, ideal for leisurely travelers. For active visitors, the park is linked to the Yokohama Bay Greenway, a scenic bike path that winds along the waterfront—perfect for cycling into the city center while enjoying panoramic harbor views and urban landscapes.

Near Mihama Park, visitors can join traditional tea ceremonies by the waterfront, hosted in serene pavilions where certified tea masters guide guests through the principles of "wa-kei-sei-jaku" (harmony, respect, purity, tranquility).

Seasonal highlights include the Harbor Light Art Festival, where projections transform the park’s trees and lakes into dynamic digital artworks, blending nature and technology in breathtaking nighttime displays.

Every autumn, the Yokohama Forest Festival brings together local artisans, food vendors, and performers showcasing traditional dance and crafts—offering an authentic glimpse into Yokohama’s vibrant community life and multicultural heritage.

Yes! The Yokohama Harbor Glass Bridge offers a stunning vantage point—suspended above the water, it creates mesmerizing reflections of the city skyline at night, perfect for capturing dreamy urban lightscapes.

Another must-visit is the red wooden pavilion by the lake within Mihama Park, renowned as one of Japan’s most picturesque traditional garden settings outside Tokyo. Its elegant design and mirror-like reflection on calm waters make it ideal for photography, especially during sunrise or golden hour.

Don’t miss the Seasonal Flower Arches, which transform throughout the year: cherry blossoms in spring, hydrangeas in summer, vibrant maples in autumn, and snow-laden branches in winter—each season offering a fresh, captivating backdrop for unforgettable shots.

Yes, some hotels provide complimentary parking for guests. For instance, Yokohama Marriott Hotel offers free underground parking with a daily limit of 8 hours and includes EV charging stations.

Other options like the Red Brick Warehouse Design Hotel partner with nearby garages, allowing guests to book discounted rates in advance. However, due to Mihama Park’s residential and green space zoning, public parking is limited. We recommend non-drivers use the subway or bike-sharing services instead.

If driving is essential, confirm parking availability early—especially during weekends or holidays, when additional fees may apply. Overall, while parking is constrained, facilities are well-managed to balance guest convenience with neighborhood tranquility.

Mihama Park is free to enter and open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with extended access until midnight on certain paths and play areas. Well-lit pathways and surveillance systems ensure visitor safety.

During spring and autumn, the park hosts free outdoor concerts and craft markets, drawing large crowds of locals and tourists alike. Facilities include wheelchair-accessible routes, benches, and shaded rest zones—ideal for all age groups.

We recommend visiting early morning or late afternoon to enjoy peaceful walks along the waterfront, gentle sea breezes, and fewer crowds, maximizing your experience in this tranquil urban oasis.

For visitors exploring Sanpuku Park in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Hyatt Regency Yokohama is a top choice. Located just a 10-minute walk from the park, it offers spacious rooms with panoramic city and greenery views, modern amenities including free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and an authentic Japanese restaurant. The hotel’s proximity to Yokohama Station and convenient access to subway lines makes it ideal for both nature lovers and urban explorers. During cherry blossom season, guests can enjoy peaceful strolls through the park at dawn or dusk, immersing themselves in serene natural beauty.

The most convenient route from central Yokohama to Sanpuku Park is via the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line to "Nijūyō-machi Station," followed by an 8-minute walk. The journey takes about 25 minutes with frequent service, making it ideal for tourists and families. Taxis take around 15 minutes but are more expensive—best used during off-peak hours. The park also features ample bicycle parking; renting a bike allows you to explore the scenic trails and artificial lake area, combining urban accessibility with tranquil nature experiences.

Sanpuku Park offers a distinctive blend of seasonal landscapes and ecological charm. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom beautifully; summer brings illuminated night walks and shaded pavilions; autumn paints the trees in vibrant reds, while winter features warm pathways reminiscent of onsen culture. The park includes a family-friendly water play area and a small animal garden perfect for children. Weekly weekend events such as outdoor markets, traditional tea ceremonies, and shamisen performances add cultural depth. Guided tours are available, offering insights into local flora and historical context, enriching the experience with nature and heritage appreciation.

While most hotels near Sanpuku Park do not provide dedicated shuttles, Hyatt Regency Yokohama offers pre-booked airport and train station transfers upon request, requiring a 24-hour notice. The hotel also provides free ride-hailing assistance for guest convenience. Given the park’s close proximity to Yokohama Municipal Subway stations, public transit remains the most efficient option. For a more relaxed experience, consider renting an electric scooter or e-bike to glide along the park’s green trails, enjoying a refreshing urban-nature escape filled with fresh air and scenic views.

Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel and Towers

This was easily the best hotel I've stayed at during my trip. The room was spacious and incredibly comfortable, with excellent soundproofing—finally, a good night's sleep without any disturbances! The breakfast spread was outstanding, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients that were both delicious and wholesome. Staff were professional and attentive throughout our stay. The only minor drawback is that although there are five elevators, only one operates at peak times, leading to waits of about five minutes—slightly inconvenient, but completely overshadowed by how amazing everything else was. Overall, an exceptional experience with fantastic value, and I’d definitely come back.

Hilton Yokohama

My wife and I stayed at Hilton Yokohama and honestly, the experience was absolutely outstanding. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the waterfront, where we enjoyed breathtaking night views of the city lights reflecting on the sea. Our room had floor-to-ceiling windows offering an open view of the vibrant skyline and ocean, creating such a romantic atmosphere. The room itself was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, with premium bedding that made for a truly restful night’s sleep. Even the toiletries felt luxurious and thoughtfully chosen. The staff went above and beyond—friendly, efficient, and always ready to help. They gave us great local recommendations that made our trip even more memorable. From seamless check-in to smooth checkout, everything flowed effortlessly. Whether you're here for a romantic getaway, a relaxing escape, or convenient access to attractions, this hotel delivers on every level. Highly recommend it for couples or families looking for comfort, style, and excellent service.

Hotel Associa Shin-Yokohama (JR-Central Hotels)

My stay at Hotel Associa Shin-Yokohama was a positive experience overall. The room was clean and fresh with no unpleasant odors—very reassuring. Breakfast options were limited, but the drink selection was quite good, offering variety. That said, the food wasn’t served hot enough, and the taste was just average. Still, the location more than makes up for it—super convenient for transit, with easy access to Yokohama’s city center and Tokyo via train. If you’re looking for a reliable, well-located base in the area, this hotel delivers great value. A solid choice for travelers prioritizing convenience.

Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel

Staying at Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel felt like being in the heart of a bustling urban oasis. The hotel stands as the tallest building in Shin-Yokohama, and its rooftop bar offers one of the best views—directly facing Mount Fuji. On clear days, the distant silhouette of the iconic peak is simply breathtaking. The lobby connects seamlessly to Prince Peppe Mall, where you can easily access subway and JR stations, plus there’s a large drugstore and another shopping complex nearby with stores like Uniqlo, GU, an electronics store, sushi bars, Western restaurants, and even more dining options. Shopping and dining are all within walking distance. While the single room is compact, the spacious bathtub was a real highlight, and the window-side sofa area made it easy to store personal items. For families, upgrading to a larger twin room greatly improves comfort. And if you want to get closer to Fuji, just hop on a train for 30 minutes to Kamakura and walk down to the beach—the perfect photo spot. Plus, getting into Tokyo from Yokohama is super convenient. Overall, this hotel delivers great value and unforgettable experiences.

SOTETSU HOTELS THE SPLAISIR YOKOHAMA

Coming out of the JR station's West Exit, head right and you'll spot an elevator right away—take it up to the second floor where the skywalk connects. Follow the row of greenery ahead, and you'll notice the two-stage escalator system. But don’t go through the left-side entrance—it’s just the first access point. For those with luggage, the easiest way is to pass by the escalator, keep going, and turn left at the third entrance. There you’ll find the hotel’s dedicated elevator leading directly to the 4th-floor check-in area. The whole route is well-designed and super intuitive, even with heavy bags. Smooth, efficient, and stress-free—exactly what a great stay should feel like.

Located just minutes away from Shin-Yokohama Station, getting around Yokohama or even Tokyo was so convenient via train. The breakfast spread was generous and delicious, with a nice mix of Japanese and Western options. What really stood out was the exceptional value for money—everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations. Whether you're here for business or leisure, I can’t recommend this place enough. Just steps from major shopping destinations like Takashimaya and Sogo, and with easy access to Shibuya and Tokyo via subway (only a 300-meter walk), it’s ideal for both business and leisure travelers. The two restaurants on the second floor are fantastic—great quality, unique vibe, and definitely worth a visit. I also appreciated how close we were to a large supermarket, making it super convenient to grab fresh seafood for a quick meal. Hotel the Knot Yokohama

Staying at Hotel the Knot Yokohama was an absolute highlight of our trip to Yokohama. The location couldn’t be better—just a 6-minute walk from Yokohama West Exit, with the hotel’s backside buzzing with life. A quick 5-minute stroll gets you to Don Quijote and a 100% coffee shop, while the nearest major shopping destination, Takashimaya, is just around the corner. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the incredible service from front desk staff, especially Ms. Kawakami. She went above and beyond to help us recover our lost passport and backpack by coordinating with the subway station—truly lifesaving! The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully designed with a calming vibe. Everything about this place—from convenience to hospitality—was top-notch. I always book this hotel whenever I'm in Yokohama for business trips, and it never disappoints. The location is incredibly convenient—just a short walk from the train station, making commuting effortless. The room is compact but well-designed, maximizing space without sacrificing comfort. Sotetsu Fresa Inn Yokohama Higashiguchi

This is the only hotel in my entire trip that truly deserves a perfect 10/10 rating, and its location is simply unbeatable. I actually changed my entire Tokyo itinerary just to stay here—worth every penny. Special thanks to a front desk staff member who speaks Chinese; she helped me rearrange my room booking seamlessly during the Japanese New Year period when our preferred deluxe twin room was fully booked for two nights. We were temporarily moved to a standard twin room, then smoothly switched back—no stress at all. The hotel’s location is fantastic: right next to a FamilyMart, and it’s less than a 2-minute walk to both JR East Exit and Keikyu Line ticket gates. From here, you can easily reach most cities across the Kanto region. The station underground features a huge shopping arcade, and just behind the hotel is another major mall with everything from pharmacies and cosmetics to dining and shopping—everything you need is literally steps away. For first-time visitors, it's easy to get confused: if you exit through the JR Central Arcade gate, look for the sign pointing to 'East Exit,' then follow the path past a large mural on the wall. Take the escalator down, turn left, walk along the left side until you see the sign 'Kita Higashiguchi A.' Ride the elevator up, cross the small bridge, and there you are—FamilyMart and the hotel are right in front of you. Simple, clear, no confusion. This place offers incredible value and convenience. I’ll definitely be back.

Hotel Yokohama Camelot Japan

I stayed here because of a concert event, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! The staff at the lobby were all incredibly kind—when I was heading out to the venue, one of them even said, 'Have a great time, enjoy yourself!' with such a warm smile. It really made my day. I also appreciated being able to store my luggage, which was super convenient since I didn’t want to carry everything around. The location is perfect for events—it’s just a short ride away from the concert hall via public transit. Everything about this stay felt thoughtfully designed for guests. If I ever have another show in Yokohama, I’ll definitely book here again. Highly recommend!
