Staying at this charming ryokan near Nanzen-ji was an absolute delight. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, offering a sense of calm and comfort from the moment we walked in. Its central location made it easy to explore Kyoto—just a short walk to Nanzen-ji Temple and surrounded by quiet streets that felt peaceful and authentic. The staff were warm and attentive, with thoughtful touches like traditional tea sets and clean, minimalist decor that captured the true essence of Japanese hospitality. Every detail felt intentional and serene. I gave it a perfect 10/10 because it truly exceeded expectations—great value, exceptional atmosphere, and a memorable experience overall. Would absolutely stay here again.

Everything is within easy reach, whether you’re going out for food or sightseeing. I had a fantastic stay at Urban Hotel Kyoto Fushimi! The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful right from check-in. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—right next to a chain fast-food restaurant and a FamilyMart convenience store, so all essentials are just steps away. Best of all, it’s super close to Fushimi Inari Shrine—walking there took me only about 10 minutes, which made exploring the famous torii gates so convenient. I appreciated the self-service laundry room, perfect for longer stays or travelers with lots of clothes. Housekeeping comes every three days for a full clean, but they still leave fresh towels and new trash bags outside the door daily—such a thoughtful touch. Clean, well-located, and great value. I’d definitely book here again on my next trip to Kyoto!

The front desk staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful throughout my stay, making check-in and any small requests seamless. Location-wise, it’s incredibly convenient: right across from a 24-hour convenience store and a pharmacy, which came in handy late at night. The only minor downside is the lighting in the bathroom—just one small light above the sink and another in the shower area, leaving the toilet area a bit dim. However, the hotel doesn’t have parking, but there are plenty of nearby options within a 2-minute walk, and they’re surprisingly affordable. Overall, this is a well-designed, thoughtfully located hotel with great value. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to fellow travelers looking for comfort and convenience in Kyoto.

Two bus stops are right outside the hotel, making getting around Kyoto super easy. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with a great bed that made for a restful night's sleep. Even better, there's a supermarket just steps away—super convenient for grabbing snacks, drinks, or essentials without having to go far. Everything about this stay was excellent, from the location to the service. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.

Even though I had the place mostly to myself during dinner and drinks at the bar, service remained impeccable and personal. The Japanese rice was excellent, and while other dishes were just average, the welcome fruits and little pastries added a sweet touch, even if they didn’t quite hit the mark flavor-wise. A small disappointment: no welcome champagne, but that’s just a minor note in what was otherwise a flawless stay. The only minor downside is that the two beds are placed side by side, which might not be ideal if you prefer more space between sleeping areas. One thing to note: after booking online, there’s an additional tax to pay upon check-in—I initially thought it was a deposit and even asked the front desk for a refund at checkout, only to get a confused look in return! Lesson learned. Also, if you want housekeeping service, make sure to place a sign outside your door—unlike some hotels back home, they don’t automatically assume cleaning is needed. Overall, this is a great stay with strong value for money, especially given the central location and clean, modern rooms. I’d definitely recommend it.
