Staying at Hyatt Regency Kyoto was an absolute highlight of our trip to Kyoto. The hotel is perfectly located just steps away from Sanjusangendo Temple and directly opposite the Kyoto National Museum—ideal for exploring the city’s cultural heart. While it’s a short walk from the nearest subway station, local buses run frequently and take you straight to Kyoto Station in minutes. If you're planning a day of sightseeing in the Higashiyama district, you can easily walk to Fushimi Inari Shrine, Gion, and even Kiyomizu-dera—all within a pleasant stroll. For those feeling energetic, Philosophy Path is also reachable on foot. Though the hotel has been around for a while and doesn’t have the latest smart room tech found in newer properties, everything feels well-maintained: the rooms are spotless, the beds comfortable, and the overall atmosphere calm and welcoming. Staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast was generous and included local favorites like miso soup, fresh rice, and seasonal fruits. We were truly impressed by how much value this hotel delivers. It’s not just a place to sleep—it’s a great base for discovering Kyoto. Highly recommended for travelers who appreciate charm, convenience, and authentic hospitality.

Staying at Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto was an absolute delight. The hotel is incredibly close to Kyoto Station, making it super convenient for getting around the city—especially with the complimentary shuttle service that runs directly to and from the station. The lobby is elegant and spacious, and the staff go above and beyond with warm smiles and excellent service. I appreciated the availability of Chinese-speaking staff, which made communication easy and comforting. The room itself was bright, spacious, and well-equipped—everything you’d need for a relaxing stay. It’s also perfectly located near shopping malls and supermarkets, so dining out or grabbing essentials is effortless. Plus, the autumn foliage is in full glory right now—those vibrant red maple leaves make the area even more picturesque. With such a great location, top-notch amenities, and competitive pricing through the platform, this hotel offers incredible value. Highly recommend for any traveler visiting Kyoto.

Staying at The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike, Autograph Collection was an absolute delight. The atmosphere is wonderfully serene and peaceful—every corner of the hotel feels thoughtfully designed and impeccably clean. I especially appreciated the breakfast spread: fresh, flavorful Japanese dishes like silky miso soup and perfectly grilled fish made my mornings truly special. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to nearby temples and excellent access to subway lines for exploring other parts of Kyoto. The quiet, cozy ambiance made it feel like a true retreat from the city’s hustle. It's rare to find such comfort, convenience, and charm all in one place. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a memorable experience. I’ll definitely be back.

I couldn’t be happier with my stay at Kyoto Tokyu Hotel—this was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had in Japan. The room was prepared exactly to my request, which made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The executive lounge was a highlight: offering a wide range of snacks, coffee, tea, and even alcoholic drinks, perfect for unwinding after a long day exploring Kyoto. Room amenities were top-notch—everything was well-maintained, quiet, and functioned smoothly. The only small downside? The hairdryer was a bit outdated and took longer than expected to dry my hair, but it’s a minor issue. What really stood out was the exceptional service—the front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the shuttle service was seamless and thoughtfully arranged. The hotel shuttle stops just behind Kyoto Station, near the Hachijo East Exit, making transfers super convenient. It runs from 8 AM to 8:30 PM, so you can easily get into and out of the city without stress. I highly recommend this hotel—especially if you value comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality. Check out my last two photos—they speak volumes about how much I enjoyed this stay!

The stay was absolutely wonderful! The room isn't huge, but perfect for a solo traveler—well-designed and super clean. I especially loved the on-site hot spring; soaking after a long day of exploring was incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating. The location is ideal—quiet neighborhood yet just a short walk from major attractions and public transit. Everything you need is within easy reach without the noise or hassle of a busy area. It’s a great balance between comfort, convenience, and calm. Highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a peaceful, authentic Kyoto experience with excellent value.

What a truly magical stay! Kiraku Kyoto Honmachi feels like stepping into a quiet, elegant chapter of Kyoto’s soul. The renovation strikes the perfect balance between traditional charm and modern comfort—subtle yet deeply thoughtful. I absolutely loved walking barefoot on the pebble floor in the downstairs room; it was so soothing after a long day. And if you prefer something smoother, there’s a gentle pathway leading straight to the bed—practical and peaceful. Upstairs, the tokonoma with its scroll and full tea ceremony setup made us feel like we were part of a real Japanese tradition. The host even greeted us with delicious matcha financiers—such a sweet surprise. The outdoor bath is a highlight: easy to fill and perfect for unwinding every evening under the stars. Even those in our group who weren’t keen on sightseeing still felt immersed in Kyoto’s spirit just by relaxing on the tatami mats. It’s not just a place to sleep—it’s an experience that lingers long after check-out.

I arrived at this guesthouse on New Year's Eve expecting a cozy stay, but instead spent two hours freezing in what felt like an icebox. There was no front desk staff available, and the online check-in process went unanswered for ages—only after calling did someone finally respond. They sent a registration link that wouldn’t load at all. Once inside, I discovered the heating and air conditioning had clearly been off for a long time. Even after running it for over an hour, the room never warmed up to a comfortable level. A technician came by and confirmed the system simply couldn’t produce adequate heat—yet he was wearing multiple layers of clothing while inside the room, which made the situation even more absurd. I reached out to the host repeatedly with no resolution. Only after posting complaints on Xiaohongshu and Heimaocat did I finally receive a refund. This experience was incredibly disappointing, especially for such a major holiday. The lack of basic service, communication, and comfort makes this stay far from worth it. I strongly advise travelers to avoid this property.

Staying at Kuraya Omiyashimabara in central Kyoto was a delightful experience. The location is perfect for exploring the city—public transport like buses and trains are just a short walk away, making it easy to get around. The house itself is immaculately clean and full of charm, with traditional Japanese touches that really set the mood. I especially loved the floor heating, adjustable ACs, and precise water temperature control—everything was thoughtfully designed for comfort. A heads-up: since it’s a genuine traditional home, tall guests should prepare to duck a bit while moving through the rooms. The neighborhood is peaceful and charming, with several cozy cafés, local eateries, and small shops within a 10-20 minute walk. It’s ideal for travelers who appreciate authentic, quiet stays over standard hotels. I’d definitely recommend this property and others under the same name for anyone looking for a unique, culturally immersive experience in Kyoto.

Staying at Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto was an absolute highlight of my trip to Kyoto. From the moment I walked in, the serene atmosphere and attention to detail were immediately noticeable—the blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern luxury is simply stunning. My room offered a peaceful view of a beautifully landscaped garden, and waking up to tea on the tatami mat felt like stepping into a tranquil painting. The staff went above and beyond—warm, attentive, and always ready to help, especially the personal concierge who assisted with everything from restaurant reservations to local recommendations. Location-wise, it’s perfect: a short walk to Gion and Kiyomizu-dera, and just minutes from the nearest subway station. Even though it’s a luxury retreat, the value for money feels unbeatable. This wasn’t just a stay—it was an experience. I’ll definitely be back.

Staying at Kuraya Kiyomizugojo was an absolute highlight of my trip to Kyoto. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a serene, minimalist Japanese aesthetic that felt both cozy and thoughtfully designed. The room was incredibly comfortable—soft bedding, quiet ambiance, and just the right amount of natural light. What really stood out was the location: a short walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, with local shops, cafes, and convenience stores nearby. The staff were warm and attentive without being intrusive, making check-in and check-out seamless. It’s rare to find such a peaceful retreat with such a high level of comfort and attention to detail. If you're looking for an authentic, relaxing stay in Kyoto, this is definitely a top choice. I’ll be back.

Staying at Hotel New Hankyu Kyoto was an absolute delight! The location is unbeatable—just steps from Kyoto JR Station, with the bus stop right across the street and a convenient underground walkway leading straight into the hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, especially one front desk agent who spoke fluent Chinese—so helpful and warm-hearted. Even though the hotel has been around for a while, it feels cozy and well-maintained, with a homely atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The Western-style breakfast was delicious and varied, with fresh pastries and great coffee. It’s clear they’ve put care into keeping things comfortable and welcoming. For a central location, excellent service, and a genuine sense of warmth, this place stands out. I’d definitely stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto.

Staying at Hotel Gracery Kyoto Sanjo was a delightful experience from start to finish. Check-in and check-out were both quick and smooth—no delays, no hassle. The room size was perfect for two carry-on suitcases, offering just enough space without feeling cramped. One little perk I appreciated every day: a complimentary bottle of water left in the room. It’s such a thoughtful touch that made the stay feel more personalized. The bathroom stood out—great shower pressure and a really nice lavender-scented shampoo and conditioner. I could’ve used them all day long! The bed was incredibly comfortable, though I personally found the pillows a bit lacking in structure (my husband liked his, though). The extra pillow provided was too flat for my taste, but overall, it didn’t ruin the experience. The only minor downside was the limited counter space beside the sink for cosmetics—could’ve used a bit more room there. Still, with its prime location near Shijo Street, easy access to public transit, and excellent value, this hotel is definitely worth considering. I’d happily return.
