Staying at Tianfu Sunshine Hotel in Chengdu was a solid experience overall, especially given its prime location near Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li. The hotel has its own parking lot—when we arrived, a staff member helped guide us to a spot, which made the check-in process seamless. Front desk service was efficient; our room was ready even before we arrived, so we checked in quickly and got our key without any delays. While the room isn’t large, it’s well-maintained for a long-standing property—the bed was clean and comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep. That said, there are some noticeable drawbacks. The windows are non-ventilating, so air circulation is poor. The central AC runs very hot, and despite adjusting the settings, it didn’t help much—the room felt stuffy and uncomfortable, especially during the day. The toilet’s flush power is weak; just two sheets of toilet paper caused a blockage, which was frustrating. Also, the shower is not separate from the bathtub—you have to stand inside the tub to shower, which feels unhygienic, especially if you’re particular about cleanliness. There’s no disposable bathtub liner provided either, which adds to the discomfort. Still, with its great location and convenient amenities, this hotel offers good value. Just wish minor details like ventilation, plumbing, and bathroom design were upgraded.
