The front desk staff also showed great care by helping carry luggage both upon arrival and departure, which meant so much during a short visit. The hotel overall is excellent—comfortable rooms, great amenities, and friendly staff. While it’s a bit of a walk from the nearest subway station, it’s manageable and not a major issue. Breakfast was decent with a variety of options, but the coffee and tea were disappointing. The coffee was extremely weak—by far the weakest I’ve had in any hotel stay. The black tea tasted more like colored water than actual tea, and there were no fresh tea bags available for brewing. It really brought down the experience, especially since other aspects of the stay were so positive. That said, the room comfort, cleanliness, and service all exceeded expectations. Definitely worth staying again if they can upgrade the beverage offerings.

The front desk staff, Olin, was exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was spotless, with no overlooked corners, and the bedding felt soft and comfortable against the skin. All smart features worked flawlessly. Breakfast offered a great mix of Chinese and Western options—authentic Suzhou-style noodles paired with fresh, well-crafted pastries made for a satisfying start to the day. Staying at Jinling Aster Hotel Suzhou was a delightful experience. The hotel is literally across from the metro station, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city—just a short walk to get on the train. Free parking is a big plus for travelers driving in. Breakfast and lunch were both excellent, especially since the famous Cai Xiang Market is right behind the hotel, offering fresh and delicious local food. I couldn’t resist trying the Xucheng Mooncakes nearby—they’re absolutely worth it! There’s also a great local noodle shop, Huajiao Restaurant, just steps away, serving hearty, authentic dishes. Suyuan Hotel

Stayed at Suyuan Hotel during my visit to Suzhou, and I was genuinely impressed. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—when they noticed we had a young child, they proactively offered us a larger twin room with plenty of space, which made our family stay much more comfortable. The room facilities were standard but well-maintained; the bathtub was a big hit with my little one, who spent ages splashing around. The air conditioning worked perfectly—the temperature was just right for autumn, so we didn’t need to crank it up too high. One of the highlights was the large koi pond in the courtyard, where we could buy fish food and feed the colorful fish. My child loved it and couldn’t stop smiling while watching them swim. The entire place was clean and well-kept with no lingering odors or hygiene issues. Overall, this is a great value-for-money option, especially for families. I’d definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Suzhou.

Garden Hotel SUZHOU

Although the hotel was undergoing renovations to the temple and Building 8, and it was winter, I wasn’t able to fully enjoy the beautiful garden scenery of Nanyuan. Still, the overall experience was outstanding. The staff were exceptional—helping with luggage, offering electric shuttle service between buildings, and ensuring comfort throughout. Even in the evening, the fitness center and swimming pool were warm and inviting, so no worries about getting cold. Breakfast was one of the better ones in this chain: the noodle stall stood out with unique items like sesame brown sugar smoothies and a special vegetarian pan-fried dumpling. Staff were attentive—the moment my mom sat down, someone asked if she wanted soy milk, and three cups arrived right away. The duplex room was spacious, especially the second-floor bedroom, which felt very comfortable. A few facilities could use upgrading—like the showerhead pressure and the small, outdated changing rooms at the pool area. That said, the evening ambiance in the lobby was truly magical: soft melodies from pipa and guqin performances created a peaceful, almost tea-house-like atmosphere. Sitting back with a cup of tea and chatting quietly was incredibly relaxing. Huge thanks to Xiao Yueyue at reception, and all the front desk and concierge team—your warmth and professionalism made a lasting impression.

Citadines Suzhou Jinji Lake

Staying at this property was a great experience overall. The spacious rooms were one of the biggest highlights—plenty of room to move around, which made the stay feel comfortable and relaxing. The proximity to the metro station is excellent; it’s literally just a short walk away, making it super convenient for getting around the city. While it’s not right next to major attractions, the transit access makes exploring nearby spots easy. The value for money is solid, especially considering the size and location. Breakfast options were basic and could use some improvement, and front desk service had room for enhancement too—but given the price point, these are minor drawbacks. All in all, I’d highly recommend this hotel for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and a good balance between cost and quality.
