Top Hotels Near Nishioka Poplar Park

The magic of Nishioka Poplar Park lies in turning ordinary into poetry—rows of slender poplars stand tall, sunlight slicing through leaves like a painter’s brushstroke. Walking here slows your steps, deepens your breath, and clears your mind. Locals jog here at dawn, couples pose for soft-focus shots, and every frame feels like a still from a Japanese indie film. This is where silence sings.

Hosts provide guided nature walks through the park and share stories about its ecological significance and seasonal changes. Ideal for travelers seeking tranquility and cultural immersion.

The most convenient option is taking the Namboku Subway Line to 'Nishi-11-chome Station', then transferring to Bus Route 14 or 17 to 'Nishioka Park-mae', a 5-minute walk from the entrance. Cyclists can rent Sapporo City Bicycles at nearby stations and ride along scenic bike paths through green corridors—offering a healthy, scenic route with panoramic views of urban and natural landscapes.

Each spring, the park hosts the Poplar Blossom Festival, when hundreds of poplar trees burst into tender new foliage, drawing photographers and families. In autumn, the Falling Leaves Light Art Exhibition transforms leaf piles into dynamic light projections, creating a magical nighttime atmosphere.

During winter, the Snowy Poplar Illumination Festival turns the trees into shimmering silver lanterns, evoking a dreamlike landscape. The park also features eco-guided trails year-round, with interpreters explaining the ecological importance of poplars and Hokkaido’s forest conservation efforts. We stayed in a room with four single beds, and it was surprisingly spacious—perfect for our group. The hotel's location is unbeatable: just steps from Subway Exit 21, and only a 5- to 10-minute walk to Sapporo Station. Across the street is the Higashiya Department Store, while Sapporo Station itself has two major shopping spots—Mitsukoshi and Stellar Place—ideal for some retail therapy. Just a 5-minute stroll takes you to the Sapporo TV Tower, and it’s about 10–15 minutes to reach the lively Nijo Street shopping district. Not far away, we found the famous PICANTA curry ramen place—absolutely worth a visit. We also appreciated that the hotel offers shuttle bookings to Mount Teine ski resort, making winter trips super convenient. Room cleaning was done daily, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a highlight—great variety, fresh ingredients, and excellent quality. Staying at Sapporo Park Hotel was an absolute delight! Located right next to Nakajima Park, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat with easy access to everything. The airport shuttle from New Chitose Airport drops you off directly at the front door—so convenient for both arrival and departure (just cross the street to catch the bus back). From the moment I stepped in, staff were incredibly warm and helpful—someone even escorted me to my room with luggage and took time to explain all the amenities. Sapporo Prince Hotel

Staying at Sapporo Prince Hotel was an absolute delight from start to finish. The room was surprisingly spacious—my 34-inch suitcase fit easily, even when fully opened, with plenty of room left over. Free umbrella lending was such a thoughtful touch, especially during heavy snowfall. Multiple elevators meant zero waiting time—just press and go. The second-floor onsen was a real highlight: separate men’s and women’s baths, both indoor and outdoor options, with high-end Pola skincare products. Pure luxury. I stayed on the 10th floor, and the view was breathtaking—the large windows framed stunning cityscapes and snowy landscapes, perfect for morning coffee or evening relaxation. Breakfast was outstanding—plentiful, delicious, and beautifully presented. For the first three days, it was served in the adjacent International Pavilion; for the last three, it moved to the main lobby area, which had just finished renovations and now felt even more elegant. Eating breakfast while watching the snow fall outside was simply magical. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—especially the front desk lady who greeted us with a cheerful "Good morning" and "Hello" in fluent Chinese. This level of personal attention made all the difference. Overall, the hotel exceeded expectations in comfort, service, and atmosphere. A top-tier experience that I’d happily return to.

Hotel Sosei Sapporo - MGallery Collection

Staying at Hotel Sosei Sapporo - MGallery Collection truly exceeded my expectations for a Japanese hotel. The design aesthetic is sophisticated, the staff were attentive and friendly, the room size was just right, and the dining options were excellent. I initially had to split my booking across different dates due to availability issues with my preferred room type, but upon arrival, the hotel kindly upgraded me to a deluxe standard room—completely free of charge—and consolidated all my reservations seamlessly. There was a small oversight when housekeeping missed my room, but instead of a generic apology, they handed me a handwritten note along with a little sweet treat. That personal touch really showed how much they value their guests and how quickly they address any hiccups. This experience felt warm and human, not just transactional. If I ever return to Sapporo, this will be my first choice. Also, since I booked early, I noticed a significant price difference before departure—thank you to the platform for promptly processing the refund for the price difference. Truly appreciated!

I originally booked two nights, but ended up extending by one more because the experience was so relaxing. The hot spring bath every evening became my favorite ritual—warm, soothing, and incredibly refreshing. Breakfast was generous and satisfying, especially loved the fresh eggs, crisp vegetables, fruit platters, and a good cup of coffee. Staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The room was surprisingly spacious compared to typical Japanese hotels, and the soundproofing made it wonderfully quiet—ideal for a restful sleep. Cleanliness is always top-notch in Japan, but this place exceeded expectations in comfort and space. Premier Hotel Nakajima Park Sapporo

I rarely give a hotel a full five stars, but this one truly earned every point. Even though it’s a three-station ride from Sapporo Station via subway, the location is still very convenient—just a quick 20-minute commute. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with a bed that made for a restful night’s sleep. But what really stood out was the bathroom: the shower has powerful yet gentle water pressure, hands down the best shower experience I’ve had in any hotel. And then there’s the breakfast—absolutely exceptional. It felt like a five-star chef personally crafted each dish: premium smoked salmon, delicious Hokkaido-raised pork, beautifully presented cup salads, an impressive array of pastries, fresh drinks, and even milk that actually agreed with my stomach. The only minor downside? No yogurt, but honestly, that’s a tiny detail. If I ever return to Hokkaido on a self-guided trip, this hotel will be my first choice again.
