During New Year's period, the hotel was lively with plenty of family-friendly activities that kept the kids entertained. The guest manager, Xiao Luo, went above and beyond—she reached out before check-in to confirm details and checked in regularly during our stay to ensure everything was satisfactory. On checkout day, she even arranged a late departure without hassle, which was incredibly thoughtful. The room itself was spotless and comfortable, with soft bedding that made for a restful night’s sleep. The housekeeping staff were thorough and attentive, leaving no corner untouched. Every team member we interacted with showed genuine warmth and professionalism. From start to finish, the service felt personal and caring. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, so dining options were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were hoping to use the Zhuyanji photography pass, but unfortunately it was fully booked when we tried to reserve it (you need to book at least one day in advance). Still, despite that small disappointment, the quality of the stay made up for it. Highly recommend this hidden gem if you're looking for a peaceful yet well-connected getaway.

Listening to their life story—how they built this place from the ground up in Xiamen—was truly inspiring. Their journey from Wujing Mountain and Sea Camp to the current retreat isn’t just a business; it’s a living testament to the resilience and spirit of Minnan culture. This isn’t something you read in a museum or see in a documentary—it’s real, raw, and deeply human. The setting itself feels like stepping into a Studio Ghibli film: quiet, poetic, and effortlessly beautiful. Walking through the garden, you’re greeted by lush green lawns, playful dogs running free, and endless views of the ocean stretching beyond the horizon—all natural, unforced, and full of soul. And then there’s the food: Auntie’s slow-cooked pig stomach lotus root soup, and the rustic charcoal-fired rice—simple yet profoundly comforting. Every bite reminded me why I love traveling. The family is genuinely kind, full of heart, and each member adds their own charm—especially the older brother trying so hard to impress (and succeeding!). Along the way, we found little convenience stores with bubble machines for the kids and warm tea for the elders—such a thoughtful touch. The family room had two spacious beds, and while there was no balcony, the large windows let in gorgeous morning light that streamed across the rooftops opposite. Not including breakfast actually worked out well—we could each grab something local: the kids loved the street-side oyster noodles, the grandparents enjoyed authentic Xiamen-style seafood rice, and I happily devoured a crispy tangyuan. We met back in the room, then headed to Huangcuo Beach at our own relaxed pace. It was exactly the kind of slow, unhurried trip that made everyone happy.
