Room quality was decent, but cleaning left room for improvement—found a cigarette butt and hair in the bathroom, likely from the previous guest. That said, breakfast was outstanding: abundant, fresh, and delicious, especially the local dishes. Some staff members were helpful, but the hotel manager truly stood out—he was warm, approachable, and genuinely listened to feedback, even offering immediate assistance. While it didn’t feel like a full-fledged five-star stay, it’s definitely a reliable option for a quick stopover or business trip. Good value, and worth considering if you're passing through Chennai.

Every time I tried to call, the line went straight to reception, and they’d have to transfer me—no direct access. Even for a simple request like a pot of coffee, the wait was often around 30 minutes. It’s frustrating when you’re just looking for a quick refreshment. Despite that, my overall experience was positive. The location is excellent—close to major IT hubs and easily accessible by public transport. The hotel offers great value, and I’d definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Chennai.

The only downside was the repeated reminders about check-out time, which felt a bit pushy and unnecessary. Location-wise, it's convenient for those visiting Tidel Park or Apollo Proton Cancer Center—easy access via public transit and close to essential amenities. Staff were polite but not particularly proactive. While the service level is average, the property offers solid value for short stays, especially for business travelers or visitors needing proximity to medical facilities. It’s not luxurious, but it gets the job done without any major issues.
Sreedevi Residency
We've stayed at Sreedevi Residency on Sundaram Street, T. Nagar, Chennai for the past five years whenever we visit the city, and the location remains one of the biggest pluses—very convenient for getting around by metro and close to local attractions. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, which is always a plus. However, breakfast service has been inconsistent over time—sometimes only a few items are served, other times it's more complete, but there’s no clear pattern or communication about what to expect. Room quality is average, but maintenance issues are concerning. The air conditioning units constantly leak water, and in every room, at least one light flickers intermittently. Exposed electrical wires hang out of sockets, posing a serious safety risk. Even more alarming, we experienced mild electric shocks from bathroom taps and running water—something completely unacceptable, especially with children present. While the management did offer free luggage storage and courier handling for three weeks during our stay, just a day before arrival they sent a message demanding Rs. 1,000 per day for 21 days. This was misleading and completely unexpected. Bala Venkat and Saravan handled the situation poorly—creating unnecessary stress, showing little empathy, and refusing to waive the charges despite the lack of prior notice. Their communication was unprofessional, and their attitude felt manipulative. After years of trust, this experience has severely damaged our confidence in the hotel. We’re disappointed and will not be returning.

The food was excellent, fresh, and satisfying, which made every meal a highlight. It’s rare to find such a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming hotel in such a central spot. If you’re visiting Chennai for work or leisure, this is definitely a top recommendation.

I stayed here for 2.5 days on a business trip, and everything ran smoothly. The staff stood out—professional, warm, and attentive without being intrusive. They genuinely cared about guest comfort. That said, the property does show signs of wear and could benefit from a refresh or renovation to maintain its charm long-term. Still, with its serene setting, thoughtful service, and excellent location, it’s a solid choice for travelers looking for something authentic and off the beaten path.
