Staying at One&Only Cape Town was an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable—warm, attentive, and genuinely personalized. Every staff member went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The views were breathtaking: our room opened directly to the ocean, and waking up to the golden sunrise over the waves felt like a scene from a movie. The design blends modern luxury with authentic South African touches—elegant, sophisticated, and deeply rooted in local culture. Even though it’s close to downtown via public transit, we barely left the property. The calm, serene atmosphere made it easy to unwind and truly relax. It’s not just a hotel—it’s an experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, luxurious escape with stunning natural beauty right outside your door.
Flatrock Suites
Staying at Flatrock Suites was a major disappointment. The hotel is located directly above a nightclub, and the loud music and constant laughter kept going until 6 a.m., making it nearly impossible to sleep. I booked a two-bedroom suite, but only one room had air conditioning— the other had no fan at all, which made it extremely uncomfortable in the heat. To make matters worse, the DSTV service didn’t work, and despite reaching out to the property management team, I received zero support or assistance. There were also no curtains or blinds on the main bedroom door, so sunlight flooded into the room by 5 a.m., disrupting any chance of rest. Overall, the experience was poor, with multiple basic amenities failing and no effort from staff to resolve issues. Definitely not worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

She makes sure every need is met without ever overstepping. I loved the honesty bar—it’s so convenient and adds a nice touch of independence. The coffee machine is top-notch; perfect for morning brews. The rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished, and incredibly comfortable. It’s one of those places you instantly want to return to. If you’re looking for a stylish, relaxed stay with genuine hospitality, this is it.

While proper laundry detergent was provided, there was no dishwasher-safe soap included, which was a small inconvenience. Overall, the value for money is solid, especially for a central location. One minor suggestion: consider reversing the fridge door’s swing direction so it opens into the kitchen rather than toward the sleeping area. It’s an easy fix with basic tools and would significantly improve daily convenience. A thoughtful upgrade that makes a big difference.
