Friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere, and great value for money. I’d highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Cape Town. It’s definitely a place I’ll come back to.

While proper laundry detergent was provided, there was no dishwasher-safe soap included, which was a small inconvenience. Overall, the value for money is solid, especially for a central location. One minor suggestion: consider reversing the fridge door’s swing direction so it opens into the kitchen rather than toward the sleeping area. It’s an easy fix with basic tools and would significantly improve daily convenience. A thoughtful upgrade that makes a big difference.

Despite this, the ambiance, location, and overall comfort make this a great choice for travelers seeking a unique and authentic stay in Cape Town. Would definitely recommend for those looking for character and charm.

The unit is located directly above a pub, making nighttime noise quite disruptive—sleeping was difficult due to constant sounds from below. The electronic access key kept malfunctioning and had to be reprogrammed multiple times, which was frustrating. The bathroom felt outdated and definitely needs a renovation—some fixtures looked worn and unclean. Parking security staff were unfriendly and not very welcoming, which added to the negative vibe. The pool was never heated, so it wasn’t enjoyable during cooler evenings. While the location is central and convenient for exploring the city, the overall quality of service and comfort didn’t match expectations. If you're sensitive to noise or value a well-maintained space with attentive staff, this might not be the best choice. It’s worth considering only if you’re looking for budget-friendly convenience over comfort and peace.
Flatrock Suites
Staying at Flatrock Suites was a major disappointment. The hotel is located directly above a nightclub, and the loud music and constant laughter kept going until 6 a.m., making it nearly impossible to sleep. I booked a two-bedroom suite, but only one room had air conditioning— the other had no fan at all, which made it extremely uncomfortable in the heat. To make matters worse, the DSTV service didn’t work, and despite reaching out to the property management team, I received zero support or assistance. There were also no curtains or blinds on the main bedroom door, so sunlight flooded into the room by 5 a.m., disrupting any chance of rest. Overall, the experience was poor, with multiple basic amenities failing and no effort from staff to resolve issues. Definitely not worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
