This is easily one of the best hotels in Nara town. The atmosphere is peaceful and elegant, and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless—friendly service, clean rooms, and a lovely ambiance. The breakfast spread was already quite good, but it could be even better with a wider variety of hot dishes and more local specialties. Still, it's a standout choice for anyone visiting Nara. Comfortable, well-located, and truly memorable. I’d definitely stay here again.

Staying at Ryokan Asukasou was an absolute delight. The room was spacious and modern, with fresh amenities that made the stay very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary local sweets upon arrival—such a thoughtful touch. The location is perfect: just a short walk to Nara Museum and Shōsōin, and even closer to Nara Park, making it ideal for exploring on foot. The onsen was warm and relaxing—exactly what we needed after a long day of sightseeing. One standout moment was the kind hospitality from the male staff member on duty the evening of November 5th. It was raining when we left, and he kindly walked us to our taxi, holding an umbrella the whole way. That small act of care truly made our experience memorable. On the other hand, one of the younger female front desk staff seemed less welcoming—when we asked if we could pick up yukata in the lobby, she said they were already in the room, but we never found any. After checking with other guests, we learned the yukata are indeed meant to be collected at the front desk. A simple miscommunication, but something worth clarifying for future visitors. Overall, the warmth and attention to detail from most of the team more than made up for it. This ryokan offers incredible value and a genuine sense of welcome—definitely a place I’d return to without hesitation.

The corner room has amazing natural light and feels more spacious than expected. You can see the train station right from the window, making travel super convenient—especially with the second-floor skywalk connecting directly to the station. No need to worry about the weather when heading out. There's a 7-Eleven on the ground floor, and just a 2-minute walk brings you to cozy cafes and a local bakery for breakfast or an afternoon treat. The bus to Todai-ji Temple is located on the opposite side of the station plaza, so it’s easy to access. The front desk staff were incredibly polite and patient—answered all my questions clearly and warmly. From location to service, everything was top-notch. This place offers excellent value and made our stay in Nara smooth and enjoyable. Definitely coming back.

Staying at Kamenoi Hotel Nara was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is truly authentic and calming, with a perfect blend of traditional Japanese elegance and modern comfort. The kaiseki dinner was exceptional—each course beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, showcasing the chef's artistry. Breakfast was equally impressive, featuring fresh local ingredients and thoughtful variety. The staff went above and beyond with their warm, attentive service—always smiling, genuinely helpful, and respectful of privacy. They made us feel welcome without being intrusive. From the moment we arrived to the last goodbye, every detail felt carefully curated. This isn’t just a hotel; it’s a memorable journey into Japanese hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nara.

Staying at Hotel New Wakasa was an absolute delight. The kids absolutely loved experiencing the traditional Japanese tatami room—it felt so authentic and cozy. What really stood out was having our own private outdoor onsen, perfect for relaxing in a serene, intimate setting. The rooftop view is breathtaking—panoramic vistas of Nara Park, especially stunning during sunset. And don’t miss the complimentary matcha tea—it’s rich, smooth, and deliciously refreshing. The hotel is just a 3-minute walk from Tōdai-ji Temple, making it ideal for exploring the park in autumn when the foliage turns golden and crimson. It’s one of the most beautiful times to visit Nara, and being so close to the temple made everything even more magical. This place offers incredible value and charm—definitely a top pick if you’re visiting Nara.

Two air conditioners kept the room perfectly comfortable, and the view from the window was serene, with lush greenery just outside. One of the highlights? The shared onsen—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. They even provide free yukata and geta sandals that you can wear outside, which made strolling around town so much fun. And yes, there’s a leg massager in the room—great for relieving tired legs after long walks. Everything about this place feels thoughtfully designed, blending comfort, culture, and convenience. Staying at Setre Naramachi in Nara was an absolute delight from start to finish. The location couldn’t be better—just a 5-minute walk to the Kintetsu station, with countless restaurants, convenience stores, and drugstores right outside the door. What really stood out? The adorable deer greeting guests at the entrance with little bows—so charming! The room itself is spacious and beautifully designed in traditional Japanese style, complete with a small private balcony perfect for morning tea or just relaxing. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—especially one gentleman in the lobby who spoke fluent Chinese and took extra time to explain hotel amenities and nearby attractions. Breakfast was a highlight: fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Every bite felt special. I left feeling completely refreshed and already planning my next visit. My double room was surprisingly spacious—way bigger than what you’d typically expect from a city hotel in Japan. There was plenty of room for two people, which made the stay feel comfortable and relaxed. The staff were friendly and included several who spoke fluent Chinese, so communication was never an issue. What really stood out? The price. At just around HKD 270 per person per night, this place offers incredible value. It’s rare to find such quality and comfort at this price point. The only minor downside is that the bathroom is a bit small, but honestly, it doesn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the overall experience. If you’re looking for a great mix of location, comfort, and affordability in Nara, this hotel is a must-book.
