Romantikhotel Die Gersberg Alm
This hotel is an absolute must-visit if you're driving—definitely not ideal for those without a car, as it's nestled high in the hills behind Salzburg. The views of the city at sunset are breathtaking and truly unforgettable. While the Michelin-starred restaurant was closed on Sunday during our stay, the breakfast experience still ranked among my top two ever—only surpassed by Landhaus zu Appesch by Wolfgangsee. That said, this place offers the best value for money. The outdoor pool is perfect for relaxing under the alpine sky, and the hillside is home to a small flock of sheep and beehives. I actually tried calling out to the sheep and got a surprisingly fierce response—hilarious! The grassy area right in front of the hotel is ideal for reading, sipping beer, or just soaking up the sun. Moments like these are pure bliss—simple, peaceful, and deeply refreshing.

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect—right across from the fortress, with stunning views just by stepping outside. Walking to all major attractions is effortless and enjoyable, making it ideal for exploring Salzburg on foot. The area is remarkably quiet, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the city’s charm. The room size is just right—not too cramped, not too spacious—perfectly balanced for comfort. Salzburg itself is breathtakingly beautiful, and staying here only enhances the experience. It’s clear why this place earns top marks: excellent location, serene atmosphere, and great value. I’d definitely return without hesitation.

Staying at Austria Classic Hotel Hölle was an absolute delight. The location is perfect—just steps away from bus stops 5 and 25, making it super easy to get around Salzburg without needing a car. A supermarket is within a few hundred meters, so grabbing essentials is hassle-free. One of the best perks? You can purchase the Salzburg Card right at the front desk—no need to go elsewhere. While the hotel does offer a paid private parking lot, there’s also a safe, free outdoor parking area just next door, which is a huge plus. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches throughout. Staff are friendly and helpful. For the price, this place offers incredible value. I’d definitely stay here again on my next trip to Salzburg.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Bloberger Hof! Perfect for a city trip — the location is fantastic, just a 200-meter walk to the bus stop, and buses to the city center run frequently. The hosts are incredibly warm and attentive; you instantly feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The property itself is beautifully designed and family-run, striking the perfect balance between cozy charm and modern comfort. Breakfast was outstanding — abundant, fresh, and clearly prepared with care and passion. The natural pool looks absolutely stunning, though we couldn’t use it due to the cooler weather — definitely planning to try it on our next visit! Overall, this place is truly exceptional and highly recommended. We’d love to come back again and again.

The unit was immaculately clean, well-designed, and fully equipped with a fridge, cooktop, and dishwasher—ideal for self-catering. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept like a baby. The host was incredibly kind and offered great local tips—especially recommending the Salzburg Pass from the grocery store right across the campsite. This pass gives free access to many museums, attractions, and even free public transport—such a smart choice! Breakfast was outstanding: generous portions, wide variety, and something for every taste. Don’t miss visiting the fortress and taking the funicular—it’s breathtaking and totally worth the time.
