The only minor downside is that bottled water isn’t provided in-room, which I assumed might be standard, but maybe that’s just how hotels operate in Germany. Also, even though I received a message prompting me to check in online ahead of time, I still had to go through the regular front desk process upon arrival. It made me wonder what the real benefit of online check-in was in this case. Despite that small confusion, the overall stay was excellent—great value, convenient, and very well-run. Definitely would book again.

This was my second stay at Monbijou Hotel, and I’m happy to say the room was significantly better than my first visit. Located on the quieter side of the building, it was larger with a more spacious bathroom—plus, the air conditioning actually worked this time (a big improvement!). That said, the street noise was still quite loud; even with windows closed, I could hear traffic and foot traffic clearly, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. Still, the overall experience deserves a solid 4.5 out of 5. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of Berlin, surrounded by great restaurants, cafés, and attractions within walking distance. Public transit access is excellent too, so getting around the city is super convenient. For the price and convenience, it’s definitely a strong option if you’re looking for a central base in Berlin.
