Staying at the Santa Monica Proper Hotel was an absolute delight. The room was spotless, beautifully designed with a modern touch, and incredibly comfortable. The gym is well-equipped and perfect for a quick workout. I especially loved the complimentary morning tea and light snacks served downstairs—such a nice little treat to start the day. The rooftop pool and restaurant are stunning, offering breathtaking views of the ocean, especially at sunset. The only minor downside is that there are parties on weekends on the upper floors and ground level, which might be noisy if your room is close to the pool area. However, as long as you’re booked away from those zones, it’s completely peaceful. Overall, this place nails the vibe—stylish, relaxed, and full of character. Highly recommend!

Breakfast options were plentiful and varied, with hot items and fresh pastries that tasted great. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit. It's a fantastic value for the location, right near Santa Monica’s vibrant area. Would definitely book again if I ever return to the city.

My only concern was finding a stuffed animal for sale placed directly on the bed—could be confusing for kids who might think it’s a gift. Also, the sofa bed was quite uncomfortable, not ideal for sleeping. While the price is a bit on the higher side, the overall experience, location, and hospitality made it worth it. If you're wrapping up your trip in LA and want a relaxed, convenient stay, this place is definitely a solid choice.
