The location is unbeatable—just steps away from Darling Harbour, with the aquarium and waterfront attractions easily reachable in just 3 to 5 minutes. Getting into the Sydney CBD (like Queen Victoria Building) is also super convenient. The staff went above and beyond—friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Even though I didn’t request daily room cleaning, they still tidied up my room each day, which was thoughtful. If you prefer not to have this service, you can simply let them know—it’s no problem at all. My room had an incredible view of Darling Harbour, and the soundproofing was excellent, so I could enjoy peace and quiet even during busy times. That said, since it was winter in August, Sydney got quite chilly. While the lobby was warm and cozy, the room’s air conditioning couldn’t quite deliver the warmth I wanted—the temperature stayed between 18–20°C throughout our stay. It would’ve been ideal if it could be adjusted to a more comfortable 23–25°C. But honestly, that’s the only small downside I can think of. Everything else was outstanding—this was truly a flawless stay!

We were in a two-bedroom unit: the larger bedroom had a built-in wardrobe and a private balcony—great for relaxing. However, the second bedroom wasn’t ideal; it was separated from the living area by a partial wall that didn’t reach the ceiling, and there was only one narrow shelf for clothes. Plus, it faced a very noisy street, so we had to keep the window closed most of the time. The open-plan living-dining area included a full kitchenette, and the bathroom came with a shower. Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. Cleaning was done weekly, and while not daily, they provided essentials like toiletries, dish soap, and laundry detergent. Since there’s no front desk, we coordinated our check-in time directly with the onsite manager who gave us his contact number. For checkout, we simply left the keys inside the unit and walked out—no hassle at all. The rate was the highest among all my accommodations in Australia, but considering Sydney’s premium pricing and prime location, it felt justified. Overall, I’d recommend this place if you value convenience, great transport links, and a central base in a lively neighborhood.

Perfect for a family getaway! We stayed in a spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suite that comfortably accommodated our family of four. The room was incredibly well-equipped—washing machine and dryer combo, ample closet space with plenty of hangers, a full kitchen including oven, microwave, complete cookware (pots, pans, utensils, cutting boards), and even a dishwasher. They even stocked vitamin C supplements—such a thoughtful touch for families. The lobby area is fantastic too: board games, coffee machine, and tea service make it a great spot for kids to relax while parents unwind. Location-wise, everything we needed was within walking distance—just 1.1 km to St. Mary’s Cathedral, Hyde Park, and the Australian Museum. A supermarket is about 800 meters away, perfect for grabbing fresh fruit or snacks. And during Christmas, they surprised us with candy and festive socks—so sweet and memorable! If we ever return to Sydney, this will be our top choice again.

Ibis Budget St Peters
I chose a ground-floor room because I wanted air conditioning, but the space was quite compact and the view from the curtains just showed the parking lot—definitely not ideal. This is the first Ibis Budget property I’ve stayed at where the experience felt underwhelming. The toilet didn’t have a lid, the shower area lacked proper ventilation so it stayed damp after use, and water pressure was extremely low—taking a shower felt like waiting for a trickle. Also, the bathroom faucet made an annoying high-pitched noise as soon as it was turned on. While the location is convenient for public transport, these issues really dragged down the overall value. It’s disappointing for a brand that usually offers solid basics. Not something I’d book again without significant improvements.
