Unfortunately, my experience was quite negative due to the lack of signage and lighting in the backyard, making the area extremely unsafe for elderly guests and children. I didn’t stay overnight—I only booked a day-use option through the platform for my birthday celebration and that of a close friend. As shown in photo 20, there’s a gap beside the staircase leading down to the yard, which becomes completely invisible at night because there’s no lighting in the area. While descending the stairs, I tripped over the gap and hit my head on a stone, resulting in six stitches above my eyebrow. To clarify—no alcohol was consumed during this incident. This could have easily turned into a much more serious accident. I reported the issue to the couple managing the booking, but they showed no intention to address or fix the hazard. Aside from that, there’s nothing else to comment on since I didn’t actually stay overnight. My only warning to future guests: this property is not recommended for families with young children or older adults due to the significant safety risks.

The building staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. From check-in to checkout, they made sure everything ran smoothly and went the extra mile to assist us. Located just a short walk from Ipanema Beach, the location is perfect for exploring the area—great restaurants, shops, and local vibe all within reach. Vidigal Hostel Bar

Staying here with a friend was such a great experience! The hostel has a super organized and welcoming vibe, with great music, amazing food, and fantastic service. The view from the bar is absolutely stunning—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the night sky over Rio. It’s peaceful yet lively, making it easy to strike up conversations and make new friends. I felt completely at home and already know I’ll be back again soon. A truly memorable stay!

Pouso Verde Bed & Breakfast

Marcos and his wife were absolutely wonderful hosts—warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay in Rio was comfortable and memorable. Marcos speaks fluent English and shared invaluable local insights, from hidden gem restaurants and must-visit attractions to areas to avoid for safety reasons. Their knowledge of the city made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. We felt truly cared for throughout our visit, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly.
