Soy Local Provenza
Absolutely perfect for a stay! The hotel is just around the corner from Provenza, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby—everything you need within walking distance. The neighborhood feels safe and lively, which made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. All the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and stylishly designed—great value for money. The only minor note is that the internet speed could be faster, especially if you're working remotely or streaming. Also, guests on the top floors might notice a bit of ambient music seeping through at night, but given the area’s vibrant atmosphere, it’s understandable and not really bothersome. Overall, this is a fantastic choice if you want comfort, convenience, and a true local vibe in Medellín.

The hotel's location is excellent—right across from the Suramericana metro station, making it super easy to explore Medellín using public transit. Just a two-block walk away, you'll find three supermarkets and several currency exchange shops, all within easy reach. It's incredibly convenient for getting around the city and enjoying local life. This place offers great value and comfort—highly recommend for travelers who want to be in the heart of the action.

Mirador de San Joaquin
The hotel is well located, making it easy to get around Medellín, especially with public transit nearby. However, I was surprised to find out upon arrival that the room doesn’t have air conditioning—just a single fan, which isn’t enough for more than two people. It got really uncomfortable in the evenings, especially during warmer days. The night staff member seemed unfriendly and unapproachable; making small conversation felt like a chore because of her cold expression. Even worse, the room didn’t come with basic amenities like soap or toiletries, despite what was listed online. It’s frustrating when expectations don’t match reality. Overall, the experience fell short on both comfort and service. A few improvements in facilities and staff attitude could go a long way in raising guest satisfaction.
Florentina Symbiosis
This place quickly became my go-to breakfast spot after staying at a nearby hostel with overpriced food and slow service. Located in the Poblano neighborhood, the prices are fair and totally reasonable for the area. The owner is incredibly sweet and welcoming—genuinely warm and attentive. Meals were served fast, and every juice was freshly squeezed, making it feel like a real treat. (Note: I’m not sure if she’s closed on Sunday mornings—best to check ahead.) After seeing photos of the rooms and hearing from other travelers, I actually think I’d enjoy staying here more than some of the noisier hostels nearby. It’s quieter, cleaner, and has that homely vibe you don’t always find in budget accommodations. If you’re visiting Medellín and want a peaceful, authentic experience with great food and kind hospitality, this is a must-try.
Hotel Ayacucho Real
I stayed at Hotel Ayacucho Real in Medellín and was really disappointed. The suite felt outdated, with terrible soundproofing—every noise from the hallway carried through the walls. Despite booking for two people, there was only one towel provided, no sheets or blanket to cover up, and I ended up shivering all night. There was barely any storage space, so half of our belongings were scattered on the floor. It took over five minutes just to get hot water running, and the bathroom had no mirror at all. The Wi-Fi was so unreliable that I had to buy a local SIM card just to stay connected. Even more unsettling was when the housekeeper opened my door without knocking—no warning, no respect. No coffee available at reception, and the internet situation was still awful. The staff seemed indifferent and unfriendly. Honestly, this hotel feels like it doesn’t care about guests’ comfort. I’m not a picky traveler, but this place is far below expectations. I wouldn’t recommend it.

That said, one major drawback is the lack of clear signage. It’s nearly impossible to spot the entrance at night, especially when the café closes. We recommend asking locals for directions or using GPS navigation to avoid confusion. Despite this small issue, the location is quiet yet central, and the overall value makes it a solid choice for travelers looking for a peaceful, authentic stay in Medellín.

Staying at Wellcomm Spa & Hotel in Medellín was an absolute delight. The front desk staff spoke English fluently, making check-in smooth and stress-free. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a complimentary room upgrade—my new room was much larger, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable, with a cozy bed that made for a restful night’s sleep. The breakfast spread was impressive too: fresh local flavors mixed with classic Western options, all well-prepared and delicious. The hotel’s location is convenient, just a short metro ride from the city center. Overall, it's a perfect blend of comfort, service, and value—definitely a top choice if you're visiting Medellín.
