A true sanctuary of peace and nature! We spent three wonderful weeks in Rio de Janeiro with our family, and were warmly welcomed by Mauricio and Stuart at Casa Verde. Breakfast was delicious and the travel tips and guided tours they shared were incredibly helpful in planning our trip. Mauricio and Stuart are genuinely kind, welcoming hosts who love connecting with guests. Their hospitality made our stay in Rio even more memorable. Thank you for such a special experience in this beautiful country—we’ll definitely be back!

We had an absolutely incredible weekend at Casa Caminho do Corcovado—truly a gem in Rio! The view from the property is breathtaking, whether you're enjoying it during the day or under the stars at night. Our cabin was spotless, cozy, and offered complete privacy—perfect for unwinding. The bedding and towels were high-quality and fresh-smelling, adding to the comfort. Breakfast was outstanding: fresh fruits, warm bread, cheeses, eggs, cakes, and more—all made with care and served with a smile. It felt like being welcomed into a home rather than staying at a hotel. Huge thanks to Helena and Diogo for such warm hospitality—they made us feel right at home. This place truly stands out, and I can't wait to come back.

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! The host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The property is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and perfectly located—just a short metro ride away from all the main attractions in Rio. The room was spacious, modern, and well-equipped with everything we needed. It’s rare to find such comfort and value in a stay like this. I can’t recommend it enough—definitely coming back!

Staying at Para TI Guesthouse was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the heart of nature, it's a peaceful retreat where you can also engage in meaningful volunteer work with local children—such a heartwarming way to connect with the community. This place truly offers a glimpse into the real Rio de Janeiro and the incredible people who call it home. We left a piece of our hearts behind, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for authenticity, warmth, and a deeper connection with the city. It’s not just a stay—it’s an experience that stays with you long after you leave.

Unfortunately, my experience was quite negative due to the lack of signage and lighting in the backyard, making the area extremely unsafe for elderly guests and children. I didn’t stay overnight—I only booked a day-use option through the platform for my birthday celebration and that of a close friend. As shown in photo 20, there’s a gap beside the staircase leading down to the yard, which becomes completely invisible at night because there’s no lighting in the area. While descending the stairs, I tripped over the gap and hit my head on a stone, resulting in six stitches above my eyebrow. To clarify—no alcohol was consumed during this incident. This could have easily turned into a much more serious accident. I reported the issue to the couple managing the booking, but they showed no intention to address or fix the hazard. Aside from that, there’s nothing else to comment on since I didn’t actually stay overnight. My only warning to future guests: this property is not recommended for families with young children or older adults due to the significant safety risks.

Staying at MC Flats Ipanema Beach Star was an absolute delight. The apartment is spacious and perfectly located in the heart of Ipanema—just a short walk to the beach, with a vibrant mix of restaurants, cafes, and local shops right outside the door. I loved how close it was to supermarkets, making grocery runs super convenient. The daily housekeeping service kept everything spotless throughout my stay, and the kitchen had all the essentials I needed for simple meals. Clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully equipped—it felt like home. If you're looking for comfort, convenience, and a great location in Rio, this place is a top choice.

Staying at Ibis Rio Porto Atlantico was a fantastic choice, especially given its close proximity to GIG Rio de Janeiro International Airport. Located in a well-planned new district, the area boasts wide, clean streets and a notably safer atmosphere compared to other parts of the city. Public transport is convenient—taking trams 1 and 4 to connect with the metro makes it easy to reach major tourist attractions without hassle. What really stood out was that room rates didn’t increase during Carnival season, which is incredibly fair and refreshing. The only minor downside is the lack of nearby restaurants—there’s just one large supermarket within walking distance, so dining options require a short trip. Still, the excellent location, reliable transport links, and great value make this hotel a top recommendation for travelers who prioritize convenience and peace of mind.

We stayed at Gallant Hotel with a group of five, and it was an excellent choice for our trip to Rio. While not located in the South Zone, the hotel's location is surprisingly convenient—just a short walk from the metro station and close to major tourist attractions. The area is quiet and peaceful, making it a great base for exploring the city. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. Breakfast was diverse, delicious, and generously served—perfect way to start the day. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed by the comfort, service, and value. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rio, and I’m already planning to stay here again on our next visit.

Marcos and his wife were absolutely wonderful hosts—warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay in Rio was comfortable and memorable. Marcos speaks fluent English and shared invaluable local insights, from hidden gem restaurants and must-visit attractions to areas to avoid for safety reasons. Their knowledge of the city made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. We felt truly cared for throughout our visit, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly. If we ever return to Rio, we’d choose them without hesitation.

Daisy truly made my stay exceptional—her warm hospitality and attentive service went above and beyond. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and welcomed throughout my visit. The hostel is perfectly located just steps from the beach, offering easy access to all the vibrant energy of Ipanema while still feeling secure and peaceful. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. From the moment I arrived, everything was seamless and genuinely enjoyable. Staying at El Misti Hostel Ipanema was an absolute highlight of my trip to Rio de Janeiro! The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the beach and surrounded by great cafes, restaurants, and local vibes. The hostel itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The staff went out of their way to help with recommendations and check-in was smooth and quick. My room was cozy, the bedding was comfortable, and the free Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Everything about this place felt thoughtfully designed for travelers who want a relaxed, authentic experience without breaking the bank. It’s rare to find such a high-quality stay at this price point. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio—I’ll definitely be coming back!

We stayed at BNB Gávea during Carnival, and it was an unforgettable experience. Raul, the host, was incredibly welcoming and patient—always ready to share local tips, recommend hidden gems, and help us navigate the neighborhood.
