The room came with a private bathroom, though it wasn’t noted in the booking details—probably a small oversight, but it didn’t affect the stay at all. Continental Hotel-Pension
I’ve seen some negative reviews giving this hotel only 2 or 3 stars, but personally I found it to be excellent—about 95% positive. The location is unbeatable: right in the heart of Vienna, just steps from the U3 metro line. The Western Train Station (where you can buy OBB tickets) is only two stops away—super convenient. The orange U3 line connects easily to other lines, and a single ticket covers unlimited rides on both buses and metros. The room was spacious with three single beds, spotlessly clean, and had no unpleasant odors. The bathroom was tidy, towels were fresh and replaced daily—just leave them on the sink counter when you leave, and they’ll be picked up. There was a tiny leak under the sink, but it was minimal and didn’t affect my stay. Breakfast was outstanding: scrambled eggs, cold cuts, cucumber slices, bell pepper strips, 3–5 types of bread, 5–6 cheeses, 3–4 varieties of liver pâté (delicious!), two kinds of butter, rich chocolate spread, two types of cornflakes, fresh orange juice, milk, coffee, plus 6–8 different teas—black, fruit, and herbal—all available from 7 AM to 10 AM with no restrictions. Just don’t waste food! The staff member in the photo was incredibly friendly and welcoming—very approachable and helpful. We paid less than 800 RMB per night for two people, which feels like an absolute steal. While it may not meet the standards of a 4-star hotel by some international benchmarks, compared to similar budget accommodations in Hong Kong, this place is way bigger and better. Overall, the value for money is exceptional. Highly recommended for travelers who want comfort, convenience, and great breakfast without breaking the bank.

My friends and I had originally booked this property, but a few days after confirming our reservation, we were informed that some rooms—including ours—had suffered unexpected water damage and were temporarily unsuitable for guests. Instead of any hassle or extra charges, the management swiftly arranged a seamless transfer to their sister hotel just around the corner. The entire process was handled with professionalism and care, making what could have been a stressful situation completely smooth. Though we didn’t end up staying at this specific property, I felt compelled to leave a positive review because of how exceptional their customer service was. In an age where guest experience often falls short, this is exactly how it should be done. Kudos to Pension Mariahilf! If I ever return to Vienna, I’ll definitely book with them again. Thank you for turning a potential disappointment into a memorable positive experience.
Royal Living Apartments
Our stay at Royal Living Apartments was extremely disappointing. From the moment we entered room 302, the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming—there was even a glass in the sink filled with ash, which was completely unacceptable. The Wi-Fi connection was nearly unusable, making it difficult to work or even browse online. We found a mask and a sock under the bed, along with visible dust buildup—all signs of poor housekeeping. We're also unsure if the bed sheets were actually changed between stays. While the location is convenient for getting around Vienna and close to public transit, the overall cleanliness and maintenance left a lot to be desired. It's hard to recommend this property, especially given the low rating. For the price, we expected much better standards in hygiene and service.

The location couldn’t be better—just steps from the subway and perfectly situated for exploring Vienna’s highlights. Despite being in a busy city, the hotel is surprisingly quiet, making it a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing. The suite offers generous space with a spacious living area and foyer that feels open and airy. The feather comforters are heavenly—so soft and cozy, I barely wanted to get out of bed. I had a quick question about accessing my key, and the staff responded immediately, which was great. The bathroom is on the smaller side, but it features a large soaking tub that made for a relaxing evening soak. The kitchen comes with nice-quality dishes and all the essentials for preparing meals. Overall, this place delivers an excellent balance of comfort, convenience, and value—highly recommend for travelers who appreciate a well-located, thoughtfully designed stay.

The bedding was clean and the mattresses were comfortable, but everything else was a disaster. The furniture was made from wooden pallets, which could have looked cool if they'd been properly secured—but instead, they kept shifting sideways and posed a real tripping hazard, especially when walking around barefoot in shorts at night. Dust had accumulated under the pallets and on top of the kitchen cabinets—clearly untouched for months. The freezer was so full of ice that there was no room for anything else. Even worse, for the first three days, we only got icy cold water in both the bathroom and kitchen—completely unusable. There weren’t even any dish towels provided. Yes, the location is excellent—super convenient for public transport and getting into the city center—but the building itself is extremely old and run-down. The backyard setting, the interior condition, and the overall upkeep all scream for serious renovation and care. It feels like the only goal here is to collect rent with zero investment in quality or maintenance. This place needs major improvements—seriously, it’s very, very far from being acceptable.

Check-in is available until 11 PM, so make sure to keep your key safe—don’t lose it! The room was spotlessly clean and well-equipped with everything I needed. I originally booked just one night, but after experiencing the comfort and charm of the place, I decided to stay an extra night. It’s a perfect blend of cozy atmosphere, excellent cleanliness, and great value—definitely worth extending your stay if you get the chance!
