The stay at Cyrildene Lodge was just average and didn’t live up to my expectations. Upon arrival, we were met with minimal assistance since we paid online—this seemed to be a point of friction for the staff, leaving us waiting without much support. The room was clean but nothing remarkable—basic furnishings with no real character. We had to ask for toiletries, as none were provided upon check-in, which felt like an oversight. Also, the DSTV service wasn’t activated, so we couldn’t enjoy our usual TV entertainment unless we arranged it separately. While the location is decent and the price was reasonable, the lack of attention to detail and basic guest needs made the experience underwhelming. Not something I’d recommend unless you’re looking for a no-frills, budget option.

Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and well-prepared, offering a perfect start to the day. Location is convenient, just minutes from public transit, making it easy to explore Johannesburg. Overall, this hotel delivers excellent value and comfort. I highly recommend it—will definitely be back!

This place delivers excellent value and feels more like a homey retreat than a standard hotel. Munisa Guest House
My stay at Munisa Guest House in Johannesburg was underwhelming overall. The front desk was largely unattended—my check-out was delayed because no one was available to assist me, which was frustrating. The air conditioning in my room wasn’t working properly; ice cubes suddenly popped out from the unit, which was alarming and uncomfortable. I also noticed a significant ant infestation in the room, and the carpet was visibly dirty and stained. While the location is convenient for getting around town and close to public transit, the lack of basic maintenance and guest service really impacted the experience. For the price, I expected better cleanliness and responsiveness. Unless you're in a real pinch or looking for a very budget option, I wouldn't recommend this place.
