Staying at Mirage Medic Hotel was an absolute delight from start to finish. The apartment-style rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with a modern yet cozy touch—perfect for both short trips and longer stays. What truly stands out is the location: just across from Heroes' Square, surrounded by museums and within easy walking distance to the park where you can take a hot air balloon ride for breathtaking panoramic views of Budapest. It’s rare to find such a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and charm in one place. The value for money is outstanding—this isn’t just a hotel, it’s a memorable experience. I’ll definitely be returning.
City Center Rooms
The owner of this property is absolutely unacceptable—abusive, unprofessional, and completely lacking in integrity. I booked a two-night stay at Cuki Apartment in Budapest for July 19–21, 2024, paying €180 upfront with a non-refundable policy. I assumed the booking was secure after payment confirmation and didn’t think twice about it—until November 14th, when I received an email from Booking asking if I found managing my reservation easy. That’s when I realized something was wrong. I checked the booking and nearly passed out: the host had changed my dates from July 19–21 to July 29–31 without my knowledge or consent. Clearly, they were trying to charge me double by forcing a cancellation. I reported it immediately. By 1 PM, I got a message saying Booking apologized and restored my original dates. Less than five minutes later, the host changed them again! I reported once more, and by 3 PM, I received another apology and a reversal to the correct dates. But then came the shock—the system now showed a pending payment of 77 lei, claiming I’d “changed the reservation,” and warned that failure to pay by November 16 would result in cancellation. I complained again, demanding removal of this false charge. On November 15th, I got a reply that made no sense—I was told there was a policy error: the minimum stay was actually five nights, so I could only keep the reservation if I extended by three additional nights. I was furious. I pointed out that I never asked for this, and that the issue wasn’t the extension—it was the fake 77-lei fee. Still, the host kept pushing me to cancel. When I refused, they changed my dates again—this time to August 5–7, 2024. What’s most disturbing? The platform did nothing to stop or penalize the host despite repeated violations. They continued manipulating my booking with zero accountability. At that point, I gave up. I couldn’t risk arriving in Budapest only to find the door locked because of their antics. This experience has left me deeply frustrated. I expect full refund—not just a vague promise of “difference” within 7–14 days. The lack of oversight and protection for guests is alarming. If platforms allow such behavior, travelers will lose trust entirely. This is not just poor service—it’s abuse. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this property and its owner at all costs.
Zuglo Hotel
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay! I was checked into room 201—nice furniture, a working refrigerator, and fully functional bathroom fixtures. Hot water was excellent, and the mattress and pillows were comfortable. Towels were clean, and the large window opened wide for good ventilation. All the essentials were there. The only small drawbacks were the lack of a hairdryer, only two outlets in the room (plus two near the sink), some minor stains on the carpet and ceiling, and the soap dispenser not working. But honestly, these are just tiny details when you're staying in such a beautiful city. The hotel's location is fantastic—just a short metro ride from the city center to Mária Square, then a quick tram ride (3 or 4 stops), or you can even walk it in about 10 minutes. Breakfast was solid—basic European-style, but fresh, tasty, and filling. Nothing fancy, but definitely satisfying. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the pool wasn’t operational during my visit, but the outdoor seating area with tables and benches on the lawn made for a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast in the open air. Evenings were perfect for relaxing out there. Overall, a great experience in a wonderful part of Budapest.
Elit Hotel
The Elit Hotel is well located and convenient for getting around Budapest, especially with easy access to public transit. The rooms are clean and comfortable, offering good value for money. However, we arrived right on the check-in time as scheduled, but the room wasn’t ready yet—cleaning staff hadn’t finished, so we had to wait a bit before entering. Also, the daily key return and reissue system felt inconvenient, and the lack of a 24-hour front desk made things less smooth. While the hotel is solid overall, these small issues prevented it from being a perfect 5/5. Would still recommend it, but improvements in service flow would make a big difference.

Communication was smooth too; English instructions were clear and helpful, so there was absolutely no language barrier. Overall, this apartment delivers on comfort, practicality, and affordability. I’d definitely book here again on my next trip to Budapest.

Stayed at Fig Tree House during a family trip to support our niece competing in the World Junior Kickboxing Championships at Puskás Stadium. The location was perfect—quiet, clean, and just a short tram ride from all major attractions. The rooms were cozy and well-maintained, and having access to a shared kitchen made it easy to prepare meals on a budget. Public transportation is super convenient, with trams and buses running frequently throughout Budapest. This place offers incredible value for the price—well worth every penny. Highly recommend this gem for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and a homely feel.
Danubius Hotel Arena
Located just a 5-minute walk from the nearest metro station in central Budapest, this hotel offers excellent access to public transport and is surrounded by convenient amenities like supermarkets and local restaurants. I stayed in a standard double room, which was much larger than expected—spacious and impeccably clean, with fresh linens and a well-maintained bathroom. The hot water worked consistently, and the Wi-Fi connection was fast and reliable, perfect for working remotely. The front desk staff were genuinely helpful—they upgraded me to a room with a view without any extra charge, which was a pleasant surprise. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough, always arriving at the right time. The mattress offered just the right balance of firmness and comfort, and the room was so quiet that I slept through the night without disturbance. Overall, this was an outstanding stay with great value for money. I’d definitely return here on my next trip to Budapest.

The Fanni Budapest Guesthouse has a unique setup that caught me off guard. Check-in and the actual accommodation are about 500 meters apart—meaning you have to walk to get there, pay a deposit for the key, and then walk back again after check-out to return the key and get your deposit refunded. It’s exhausting, especially with luggage. While the room itself was clean and the staff were polite, the logistical hassle really took away from the experience. The location isn’t bad, but the lack of convenience in the check-in/check-out process makes it less appealing. If you're visiting Budapest, I’d recommend choosing a place closer to public transit or the city center for better flow and less walking.
Corvin Lux Aparthotel
I booked this property on the same day I arrived and immediately reached out to the host to confirm my arrival time—literally within minutes. Instead of a clear answer, I was left waiting for hours while being sent vague instructions about check-in procedures, including an online portal that didn’t even work. Despite knowing the system wouldn’t function right away, they refused to cancel my booking and insisted they were entitled to full payment. This was also the first time I’ve ever been asked to pay a deposit—higher than the total booking cost—though we never even got to that point. Throughout the entire ordeal, customer support only responded with generic, irrelevant templates, offering no real help. By the time I arrived at the property, I’d already wasted precious hours trying to resolve something that should’ve been simple. The lack of communication, poor responsiveness, and unwillingness to accommodate a last-minute situation made the experience frustrating and stressful. If you're looking for flexibility and genuine assistance, this isn’t the place. Not recommended.

The stay at Lion's Garden Hotel was nearly flawless. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the city center and easily accessible by public transit. The staff went above and beyond to help with local recommendations, transportation tips, and even helped us book a last-minute dinner reservation. They were friendly, professional, and always available when needed. The only minor downside is that bathrobes aren’t complimentary—they have to be requested, which felt a bit odd given how otherwise seamless the experience was. But honestly, that’s just a tiny detail in an otherwise outstanding stay. With its great ambiance, excellent service, and unbeatable value, this hotel is a top choice in Budapest. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

The welcome was excellent! Breakfast and dinner were perfect, and the room was spotless and very practical. It's incredibly convenient—just a short walk to the metro, the arena, and the stadium, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The staff were extremely helpful and offered great recommendations. I felt well taken care of throughout my stay. This hotel is definitely worth recommending for both business and leisure travelers.
