The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic—just a 20 to 30-minute tram ride from Melbourne Central, and it’s super easy after catching the SkyBus from the airport. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, and even a gelato shop right around the corner, so you’re never far from food or essentials. The rooms on the second floor are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with a great bathroom, a functional kitchen, and a handy laundry area. The manager was incredibly helpful—offered to carry luggage up and down without even being asked, which made a big difference. I’d definitely stay here again if I return to Melbourne. The only minor downside is that the stairs to the 2nd floor are metal, so they can get slippery in the rain—be careful when walking up or down during wet weather.

I stayed at Playhouse Apartments in Melbourne and was disappointed with the overall experience. There's no front desk, which made check-in and assistance difficult. Despite having three elevators, one is constantly out of service, leading to long waits. One resident repeatedly slams the door, creating constant noise that disrupted my stay. I've tried reaching out to building management for help, but received no response. As a unit owner myself, I truly regret this decision—leaving the property felt like the best part of the entire visit. The lack of maintenance, poor communication, and general disorganization make this a hard recommendation to give. If you're looking for a quiet, well-managed stay, this isn't the place.

The location is fantastic—just a 10-12 minute walk to the venue, and with pleasant cool weather, it made the stroll enjoyable rather than stressful. The room was clean and comfortable, though the sheets showed some signs of wear—nothing dirty, but the white fabric looked slightly yellowed under certain lighting. Still, considering it was just a one-night stay and the purpose was attending a concert, this was totally acceptable. Great value for the price, especially if you're coming for an event.
