The Beach Tulum Hotel
The Beach Tulum Hotel truly delivered on its promise—everything was impeccable. The room was fantastic, with an incredibly comfortable bed and breathtaking views that made every moment feel like a postcard. Unfortunately, we visited during the sargassum season, which caused the water to turn brownish-red and sometimes carried a faint odor from decomposing seaweed along the shore. That said, I can only imagine how stunning the view must be when the beach is clear. The hotel features two excellent restaurants, and the meals were delicious and well-prepared. Despite the seasonal drawback, the overall experience was outstanding. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway if you’re looking for beauty, comfort, and great food.

The shower itself has a direct view of the sea. It’s surreal to rinse off while watching the waves dance below. The hotel facilities were spotless, the beach immaculate, and the beach club served up some incredibly unique mushroom cocktails. The on-site restaurant also deserves a perfect score — fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully crafted. The beach is just a 5km drive away, where you can enjoy some of the most popular beach clubs in the area. With its peaceful vibe, incredible hospitality, and unbeatable location, this is 100% worth it. A must-visit for anyone looking for a tranquil yet vibrant retreat in Tulum.

Staying at El Pez Colibri Boutique Hotel in Tulum was one of the best decisions we made during our trip. The location is absolutely perfect—just a 30-yard walk to the beach, with waves gently lapping nearby. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond: complimentary drinks upon check-in, a fully stocked breakfast menu included, and they upgraded us to the best room available. Every detail was immaculate—the rooms, common areas, even the daily housekeeping service felt like gold-standard treatment. The on-site restaurant offers great food and excellent service, and the vibe is relaxed yet elegant. We loved walking to nearby cafes, fresh seafood spots (daily catch!), Mexican street food, and pizza places—all within minutes. A short bike ride takes you to the ancient ruins, and a $15 taxi gets you to the Biosphere Reserve or Muyil ruins easily. It’s rare to find a hotel that combines luxury, convenience, and authenticity so seamlessly. We felt truly lucky to have discovered this gem among all the options in Tulum. He’s not just friendly—he’s a local expert who knows all the best spots: hidden cenotes perfect for swimming, authentic taco stands, and serene ruins with breathtaking views. The rooftop terrace is a real highlight—perfect for sipping coffee at sunrise while watching the sky light up over Tulum. It’s peaceful yet within walking distance of everything the town has to offer. This isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a home away from home with soul. I already can’t wait to return.
Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa
The resort overall was an excellent experience—beautiful setting, great location, and friendly staff. However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. Several restaurants only opened on a rotating basis, with just two available daily, so we couldn’t try all the dining options. That said, it’s disappointing for a property of this caliber. More concerning was the cleanliness issue near our room—guests from the adjacent unit kept ordering meals, and leftover food was left in the hallway for days. A fork remained on the stairs for four full days with no one picking it up. The poolside snack bar served burgers and light bites for one day but was completely closed for two others while we were at the pool. Instead of service, we found scattered food remnants where birds were feeding, and no staff appeared to clean up. Only late in the afternoon did someone show up to collect the trash—but they didn’t even wipe down the counters or clean the grills. These lapses are hard to overlook for a resort that markets itself as top-tier. Despite these shortcomings, the rest of the stay was fantastic. With tighter operational oversight, this place could easily be flawless.
