Staying at Lula Seaside Boutique Hotel in Tulum felt like stepping into a serene escape from the usual chaos of the area. We booked a ground-floor beachfront room with a private terrace and backyard, complete with a bathtub and hammock, and it was absolutely worth every penny. The location couldn’t be better: direct sea views from the front deck, just steps away from the beach and the hotel’s restaurant. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with a cozy bed and a stylish bathroom that made staying feel luxurious. The beachside bar offered excellent service right up until sunset—relaxing, friendly, and perfectly timed. The on-site restaurant served delicious food with a solid range of vegetarian options. While prices are on par with Tulum standards, everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and high quality. One nice bonus? Access to the facilities of the neighboring sister property, La Zebra, which includes a fantastic Mexican restaurant, an upstairs lounge, and a beautiful pool. We dined there a few times, and the food matched the excellence we experienced at Lula. We also received a complimentary cocktail voucher valid across all sister properties—a small but meaningful touch. Outside the hotel, the main beach road is within walking distance and packed with dining spots, 24-hour supermarkets, pharmacies, cafes, and bars. Plus, the hotel offers daily wellness experiences like yoga and sound healing sessions—though we didn’t participate, we could see how much others enjoyed them, adding to the overall peaceful, grounded vibe. All in all, this is a top-tier stay at a surprisingly fair price. With incredible staff who go above and beyond, it’s easy to see why guests keep coming back.

The resort overall was an excellent experience—beautiful setting, great location, and friendly staff. However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. Several restaurants only opened on a rotating basis, with just two available daily, so we couldn’t try all the dining options. That said, it’s disappointing for a property of this caliber. More concerning was the cleanliness issue near our room—guests from the adjacent unit kept ordering meals, and leftover food was left in the hallway for days. A fork remained on the stairs for four full days with no one picking it up. The poolside snack bar served burgers and light bites for one day but was completely closed for two others while we were at the pool. Instead of service, we found scattered food remnants where birds were feeding, and no staff appeared to clean up. Only late in the afternoon did someone show up to collect the trash—but they didn’t even wipe down the counters or clean the grills. These lapses are hard to overlook for a resort that markets itself as top-tier. Despite these shortcomings, the rest of the stay was fantastic. With tighter operational oversight, this place could easily be flawless.

I also loved the on-site café; the coffee was rich and aromatic, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. This place truly stood out for its warmth, convenience, and attention to detail. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Tulum.
